Jisu shielded her nose the moment she entered the cat-eyed girls' place, as the unpleasant odor of burnt chocolate welcomed her arrival.
The brunette was not meant to make a visit to the cat eyed girls' place. Instead a phone call forced her go on an unscheduled visit. Only this time instead of Yeji's disoriented voice it was Minju's authoritative voice who rung into her ears, asking her to come and assist Yeji.
With her hand still in her face she halted in the middle of the living room, squinting her eyes and furrowing her eyebrows as she closely listens in from the distant loud scolding that is barely audible.
It didn't take much time for Jisu to gravitate herself towards the kitchen where in as soon as she turn the corner, there she saw the cat-eyed girl, head tucked and bowed low as Minju proceed to berate her for her carelessness.
"Well you girls seemed to be having fun," Jisu chimed in, causing the two to avert their attention to her.
Minju closed her eyes and held the bridge of her nose, as she heavily sighed. "You take care of her Ms. Choi, I have to go back to our company building to finish her unfinished paper work."
Jisu simply nodded in reply to Minju, as the elegant demon soon took her stuff and exited the place. Leaving only Jisu and Yeji standing in the middle of the kitchen.
Swaying from side to side and her head slightly bowed low, the cat-eyed girl broke the silence and spoke. "I-I'm sorry..." Yeji quietly apologized.
Jisu furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "Sorry? Sorry for what?"
Yeji stopped her constant moving and embarrassingly raised her head and met the brunettes eyes. "You're supposed to go on a break you know? And I kinda umm... Ruined that for you."
Jisu chuckled. "You didn't ruin anything Yeji. As a matter of fact staying home all day started to get boring," the brunette said, reassuring the cat-eyed girls' guilt.
"But isn't Yuna with you?"
"Well... she was, but then she left to hang out with her friends."
With that Yeji showed a little glow in her, as her lips arched up and turned into a smile. "Teenagers am I right?"
"Yep teenagers... Wait before I forget it, what were you trying to make that nearly burned this place huh?"
Yeji looked to her side and scratched the back of her head. "Uhmm, I was trying to make something for you... But I kind of forgot I was making it on the first place. Sooooo, yeah."
"Why would you make something for me? Isn't that too much effort for the Lord of the Underworld?" Jisu walked closer to Yeji as she proceeded to wiggle her eyebrows and nudging Yeji with her elbow.
"I'm just a normal devil in front of your presence Jisu." Yeji responded whilst she started removing the apron she wore. "Besides, I want to make an effort for you. I'm not really courting you if I don't do effort now is it?"
"I don't get why you want to make effort for some random local New Yorker, like what did you see in me that made you wanna commit for me?" The brunette uttered, the sarcasm evident in the tone on her voice.
Yeji didn't respond to the brunette, instead she walked over to the brunette and snatched her. Wrapping her arms around the brunette's tiny waist and started tickling her. "It doesn't matter what I see in you Jisu. I am merely drawn into you, I fell for you the same way any mortals do," the cat-eyed girl said.
The brunette frantically tried shaking the cat-eyed girls' hold on her, but failed, as she then resorted on scream in between her laughs. "Yeji stop it, sto— hua-hahahaha!"
"Stop being sarcastic then." Yeji released her python like constriction on Jisu, as she joyfully observed the brunette while tears off her eyes from laughing.
"I am going to get one back on you one of these days Yeji," the brunette rebuts, as she soon recovered back to her calm state.
"You can do that once that day comes, but right now. We have somewhere to go to. A place that is very important to me."
"Where exactly is that?"
"It won't take us that long. Just come along with me."
The brunettes did not choose to ask more questions and instead she just followed suit.
Leaving the cat-eyed girls' place as they both headed to a place which will remind them of something special.
It didn't take much time for the two to arrive at a very familiar place. Yeji wasn't particular lying when she said that the place they're going is not that far from where she lives.
Jisu didn't take that as a serious note, opting to think that Yeji was merely joking to conceal the fact that their destination is far from where they are currently plotted.
But the destination that Yeji took them rung such a good and bad memory for Jisu.
"Central Park."
"Mhmm, don't this remind you of something?" Yeji asked.
Jisu furrowed her eyebrows, confusion taking hold of her mind. She clearly know exactly what Yeji means, but she can't get a grasp of what exactly the cat-eyed girl was trying to refer to. "Uhh, I-I don't know, I mean this is where I first met you."
"Exactly, and you know what else happened here?"
"W-what?"
A sheepish grin rose across the cat-eyed girls' face. "This is where you were back when you nearly became a strippe—yaooh!!" Yeji yelped in pain. "What was that for?"
"That's for reminding me of a dark past," Jisu backed away from Yeji and crossed her arms. "Was this the reason why you dragged me here huh?" Jisu said, irritated from the cat-eyed girls' teasing. She then started getting ready to leave but was then immediately pulled back by Yeji.
"No silly, I dragged you here just to reminisce our beginning."
Yeji held Jisu's hand dragging her to the nearest bench.
Coincidentally there's not that many people wondering around the park. Allowing Yeji to stand in front of the brunette to profess something to her.
"Jisu."
"Hmm?"
"In the beginning when my father created the heavens and the earth. I relate so much to that."
"How so?"
"My father created an opportunity for me. I dropped down here on Earth, as time and fate converged allowing me to meet you," Yeji paused and held out her hand, pointing towards the brunette, "My heaven."
Jisu looked on, warmth engulfing her heart. As she gawked at Yeji's feline eyes, allowing her to fall further and further more for Yeji.
Who would thought that the Lord of the Underworld can still learn to love. Even if it's from such an unexpected romance.
"This is our first day of courtship. Let's enjoy this Jisu," Yeji voiced out, as a warm smile arched across her face.
