Two years.
Two whole years.
Seven-hundred-thirty days have passed since Yeji's fall and the three angel's full departure from Earth. It's also been then since Jisu was left completely oblivious of the whereabouts of her divine friends.
At that time when the whole event occured. Felix abruptly left Jisu and Yuna alone at their apartment to assist a certain someone due to an unprecedented fatal injury. Now Felix did eventually return, but he only left Jisu in the shadows. Opting to give out vague answers to the brunette desperate questions.
Hence why Jisu, up to this point, still believed that her friends have departed and returned to heaven.
She does understand why they have to return, they weren't after all normal human beings. But deep inside her wished that they could've atleast stayed a little longer or maybe even came back for a bit and bid farewell.
But it is what it is.
"Shuhua where are you taking me this time?" Jisu lazily uttered, walking right behind Shuhua, as the girl pulled her to some place else.
Shuhua looked at Jisu momentarily and gave the brunette a smile. "You're beautiful Jisu."
"O–kay? Thank you I guess?"
"That wasn't a complime— oh I'm sorry sir," Shuhua abruptly ended her sentence and apologized to a man, slightly bowing her head as both her and Jisu slipped by the person she bumped into. "Anyways, that wasn't a compliment."
"Sooo~ what was that for then?" Upon immediate realization, Jisu halted from her tracks, causing Shuhua to also halt. "Wait... no Shuhua I'm not doing this again."
Jisu knew exactly where this is going, it's been reoccurring ever since they quit their job two years ago.
This on going cycle of Shuhua recommending Jisu to jobs have gone on for a long time. It all started when they finished college, the first job Shuhua recommended for Jisu wasn't actually something that could be labeled as bad.
And for the record, Jisu almost took the chance to make it her own occupancy, but she threw all of it out immediately as a little problem named Shin Yuna had to board in with her.
From there on it had a gradual descent to laughable to outright crazy and absurd.
And by crazy and absurd, it meant by Jisu almost being a stripper.
"Oh come on Jisu, you have a pretty face and for once I'm not gonna recommend you to a strip club."
"Shuhua, no way! Didn't you say last time that you would go with me to the job interview you said," Jisu said, lifting her arms up and moving her fingers to signal an air quote. Emphasizing the job interview part.
"Yeah, but that wasn't entirely my fault now don't it? It was also recommended to me and I actually read the whole email at that time which is why I ditched the interview, unlike you."
"Hey, I also read it... maybe."
"See? Come on Jisu, you're jobless and I don't want my bestfriend to be jobless as an adult," Shuhua pleaded, clinging onto the brunettes arm like a kuala.
Jisu sighed, looking at Shuhua and at her sparkling eyes. Pondering upon her answer to Shuhua's offer.
It's not that she doesn't trust Shuhua, she trust the girl so much, so much that Shuhua could practically stand in as her mother. They've after all been together since middle school and their bond as bestie's is absolute.
