Chapter 23

Confusion and other related emotions haunted Ryujin.

Her mind is filled with a mish mash of countless unanswered questions. Starting with the first one that occured right as she was revived. The unknown reason as to how Yeji somehow kept her angel wings despite turning into a devil.

Ryujin questioned the mere possibility of it deeply.

Then now comes a new one, scratching right on the surface of her skull.

How and why is Jisu able to see her?

On the other side of the fence. Yeji got dragged into the problem as she became more connected than ever regarding Ryujin's trouble. Even she believed that no one is capable of witnessing Ryujin now that she's a spirit.

It's basic understanding for them as divine entities that if they're in their spiritual form. No one is able to witness them, unless they willingly reveal themselves to a person.

And clearly, Ryujin had no intentions of ever revealing herself to anyone, let alone Jisu.

But with no further answers to the mystery hanging in front of their eyes. They just assumed that the reason Jisu was able to witness Ryujin, was solely because of her affiliation with Yeji.

At that point it could've easily been debunked.

But that was until Shuhua entered the store and immediately greeted Ryujin. Making that assumption very irrelevant.

It took quiet a while for Ryujin to properly process everything that had just passed. She didn't even talk to Jisu as she felt like if somehow everything were just a fluke, maybe she might accidentally reveal her spiritual form and totally mess up Jisu's perfectly functioning brain.

But despite Ryujin's reluctance of conversing with the brunette. Jisu ignored the blonde haired girls' mysterious silence and dragged her to sit right behind the counter, as she proceeded to tend to Ryujin's wounds.

All the while Yeji stood there like some sort of third wheel, completely ignored by the two who's casually conversing with each other.

She knew all too well that jealousy should never come across her mind since Jisu's intentions were clearly just to tend to the blonde haired girls' wounds.

She resisted the idea of being jealous, but  everything came falling apart when the two started being all touchy.

At some point, when Jisu started cleaning the wound on Ryujin's lips. Both Ryujin and Jisu started smiling at each other and out right forgetting that Yeji was even right beside them.

That was the last ounce of her tolerance, as jealousy started engulfing her mind. An inevitable perk of being a devil.

At that moment, Yeji started to intentionally kick Ryujin's chair, nudging Ryujin for no reason and then acting like nothing happened, even lying that there was an insect on the floor which made her stomp on the hard surface forcibly.

In spite of all the cat-eyed girls' weird jealousy driven antics. Jisu's whole first aid procedure went on successfully.

Everything went on as smooth as they could've imagined. Jisu and Yeji somehow became calm around each other, as they disregarded the fact that both of them nearly touched lips before.

And in addition to this. Ryujin also tried her best to put the whole 'Jisu being able to see her' problem at the back of her mind for a small bit.

At that point there were no other thing that both Yeji and Ryujin wanted to do inside the store. Yeji finally got something to eat and Ryujin just got herself tended to.
