Different mixture of vibrant luminous glint of light from distant buildings burst right into Yeji's feline eyes, as she surveyed outside the window. Silently and comfortably seated at a wooden chair she took from the dining area. Admiring New York's signature city lights.
Yeji yawned, rubbing her eyes. Momentarily averting her gaze away from the window and towards the wall clock, looking to determine the time.
11:04 PM.
She's waited this long for Ryujin and her other angel companions to return, but they're taking an annoyingly amount of time to do so.
Boredom pushed Yeji to settle with sightseeing near the window since both Jisu and Yuna have gone to their room and headed into dream land.
Yeji did intended to hang out with the brunette further into the night. Looking to have someone to talk to while she wait for the blonde haired girl to return from looking for her other two friends.
But Jisu became distant towards her, awkwardly avoiding conversations and acting as if she's preoccupied with something else.
Yeji sighed, reverting her attention back outside the window once again. By now everything would've been done and settled between her brother and Chaeryeong, but here she is looking outside the window, blankly staring at nothing but the different sparking lights in the distance.
She did on other hand find the view somewhat serene and gorgeous. Aside from the rowdy, crowd filled and polluted streets of New York. This city unbelievably radiates such relaxing atmosphere when it's quiet hours.
Crimes does happen in the underground and behind the shadows. But mostly, when things are as quiet as this. It's such a great time to just lay back and relax.
As she looked deeper outside, she saw a barely visible twinkling specks of light residing from a towering skyscraper.
It's the Empire State Building.
Chills suddenly creeped up on Yeji, as she found the view very breathtaking.
'Why haven't I seen this?' Yeji thought to herself, as she continued to look outside completely zoning out and engulfing herself in her thoughts.
To be exact. Why did she not see such magnificent scenery in her years of residing in the city?
There are many reasons. But the one's that defined her oblivious state were the fact that she fell into a deep slumber for seventy-four years. This accommodates the reasoning as to why she's never had time to admire the whole city's breathtaking scenery.
She also never took the time to actually go outside. When she did go outside she just wondered aimlessly with no definite destination, not really paying attention to her surroundings. Hence being clueless on how beautiful the city was.
Yeji's endless wondering train of thoughts is cut off from the sound of the door unlocking.
Yeji stood up, rising her guard at high alert. At this point she can't have a mental lapse. If the door swings open and reveals a demon, she's got to be ready to defend herself and the two sleeping girl.
Slowly, the door swung open. Her worries soon got washed away, as three familiar faces entered the room.
"Took y'all long enough," Yeji announced, revealing herself to the two unsuspecting angel.
Chaeryeong covered her mouth in shock. "Y-Yeji? Wha— oh my," she fumbled between her words, as she glanced toward Ryujin who's sporting a proud smile. "Y-you actually got her back," she continued.
"Didn't I tell both of you I'd get her back here with us."
The tall cat-eyed male on other hand only stood still, arms crossed and not sparing a glance towards her fallen sister. He's ashamed and embarrassed to the point that he never built the courage to look at her sister, especially after the harsh words he told her.
