Chapter Thirty One
Date: December 22nd
Louis' POV
I couldn't sleep all night, tossing and turning with the occasional head wack from Caitlyn. I finally got up, grabbed my phone and quietly crept down the stairs to the couch.
"Couldn't sleep?" I about hit the ceiling. I spun around and see my mom. She snickers and I groan. "Sorry didn't mean to scare you love. Why are you still awake? It's 3am. Jet lag isn't possible, love."
"I- I thought I saw Eleanor outside earlier." Mum set down her cup of tea and looked at me.
"What?! Why didn't you say something?!" She shrieked and ran to the curtains, looking outside.
"Sorry mum. I just hoped it was a hallucination." I told her. She sighed and sat down next to me on the couch.
"Well why don't you call the station? Maybe they can tell you if she's escaped." I looked at her, why didn't I think of that??
"I'm gonna do that. Thanks mum." She shook her head and waved it off before going upstairs to try and sleep.
"Let me know what happens." I nod and pull out my phone. I do a quick search of London's police station and call in.
"Hello? Hi. My name is Louis Tomlinson. I wanted to see if an inmate is still in custody." I listened and they asked for her inmate number. I looked up the stairs and in the kitchen before replying.
"Number 153890." I recite from memory without missing a beat. They put me on hold and I just sat there, sort of twidling my thumbs. The officer came back on the line after a bit and I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Okay thank you. So sorry for the late call." I hung up and counted my lucky stars that Eleanor was still in jail. With that dealt with I headed up to bed before I had to wake up and take the girls shopping.
Josh's POV
Amanda and I didn't do much of anything the days leading up to Christmas. Literally. We did our wrapping in seperate rooms but we didn't go out much. Thanks to the internet and shipping, we could do all of our shopping online.
"Babe. Tomorrow is Christmas." I told her and she nodded, I guess I just stated the obvious.
"Yeah I know. You're sure that your family isn't coming in right? No suprises." She looked at me and I shook my head.
"No they aren't coming. They said they weren't. Now if they do, don't get mad at me cause I'm not involved." Amanda looked at me wide eyed.
"So they ARE coming? Josh! Gah! I want to know if they are coming so I know if I need to go shopping!" I laughed and tried to calm her down.
"I don't know if they are coming for sure. Want me to call and find out?" She nodded and I pulled out my phone, tapping in my mom's number.
Mum? Hey it's Josh. Are you guys coming in tomorrow? We don't want any suprises. -Josh
Hey baby. We are NOT coming, okay? We wouldn't be able to anyways with all the snow warnings London has been getting. The closest we'd be able to get to London is Ireland, no joke. But no we are not coming. Besides it's warm here! -Mom
Good. We just wanted to make sure. Have a good time Mum. Love you guys & Merry Christmas. -Josh
We love you too! Tell Amanda hi for me! Bye baby. -Mom
I relayed the message to Amanda but she still felt suspicious, so I left her own. I swear when I went into the bathroom later, I heard the flat door close. Sure enough, Amanda had left to go shopping. She's so paranoid, I swear.
