Chapter Nine- The Fight & Plan

Chapter Nine 

Liam's POV

Danielle and I were at the airport waiting for our flight. "Hey. I'm gonna go get some snacks for the flight okay?" Dani tells me. I nod and hand her some money. She leaves and I make conversation with our bodyguard. About five minutes Dani comes back with a weird look on her face. "Dani? Are you okay? Did something happen?" I ask jumping up. She shakes her head and hands me a magazine. "Why'd you give me th--" I stop when I see the front page of it. Holy shit. Yes. I know I'm Daddy Direction but sometimes I do cuss.

I flip through the magazine and stop when I get to Niall's article. Quickly reading through it, Dani pulls my arm and I realize we are about to miss our flight. Dammit Niall. Amanda? What happened to Lia?! Ugh is all I can think of as Dani & I rush to try and catch our flight.

Josh's POV 

After Lia canceling our date I decided to go grocery shopping and get some new drum sticks while Im out. My phone rings right before I'm about to walk out the door. I run to pick it up.

Hello? -J 

Hey Josh. It's Amanda. Want to hang out today? -A 

Hey! Sure. I'm about to go grocery shopping though. Unless you want to tag along? -J 

Yeah. I'll be there. Meet you at your car? -A

I agreed and soon Amanda & I were on our way to the store. "So how have you been?" I asked her. "Eh. Been better. Lia & I aren't friends anymore so I'm trying to get over that. I think I may just go home." she tells me. I'm shocked by her answer. Her & Lia? Over? "You and Lia? What happened?" I ask as we park & jump out of the car. She shrugs, and opens her mouth, then closes it thinking. I shrug and grab a shopping cart.

We talk about other stuff, shopped, and laughed. I'm really beginning to like her. I could see myself dating her. "Ooh! I want to go to the books aisle! I'm a huge book worm!" she squeals. I raise an eyebrow at her, chuckling, but agreeing. We walk down the magazine/ book aisle. I browse through skipping over the gossipy magazines. They are all just bullshit lies. I pick up a book and read the back of it. Amanda squeals as she finds a book she must like. I laugh at her, she turns & smiles at me. We turn back to our books. I go to set my book back to the spot and a magazine behind it catches my eye.

No. Fucking. Way. Niall & Amanda?! Niall Horan and my girl?! Well not my my girl but my... oh you know what I mean! I throw the book back in frustration and walk away from the aisle. Amanda follows and I just send her secret glares. I guess she can tell I'm tense, "Hey. Josh. You okay?" She touches my shoulder and it takes everything in me not to recoil from her touch. I seriously thought we were connecting and the way she says my name makes my heart skip, skip, skip, ski- okay enough Olly Murs. Jeez I sound like a teenage girl.

We finish shopping, I pay and throw all the groceries in the car. Amanda comes out as I get into the car. She gets in and I squeal out of the parking lot. "Whoa. Josh! What the hell? Whats with the cold shoulder? I thought we were getting along!" she asks me, gripping the seat and glancing frantically at me. I stop at a red light and don't answer the question. "JOSH! ANSWER ME! What's going on?!" she grabs me by the shoulders and turns me towards her. "JOSH!" she screams when I hesitate. She frowns and slumps back in her seat when I still don't answer.

"If you're so unhappy why don't you go to your boyfriend? Huh?" I spat at her. She gasps and turns towards me. "EXCUSE me?! What the hell are you talking about?!" I reach in the backseat for the magazine that I ended up buying. I shove it in her lap. She gasps again as she looks at it. "Shit!" she mumbles but I hear it. "What? Didn't want your relationship to go public? That's what happens when you date a international pop star." I spit at her, my eyes narrowing, and jealously pouring out of my skin. Im furious and, well, I'm hurt.

My best mate and the girl I really like are... Together. A couple. A tear trickles down my face and I wipe it away furiously before she notices. "You know what?! If you're going to be like this, maybe I will go to my boyfriend!" she tells me, I can tell her eyes are getting glassy. Why? She doesn't like me. She has a boyfriend that she clearly is happy with. "Fine!" I tell her. "FINE!!" she jumps out of the car and runs down the street.

I hit the steering wheel, as cars honk at me and I realize two things. One, the light was green. And two, my heart was breaking.

Amanda's POV 

My heart is breaking. I can't believe Josh said all of that to me, that he believed the tabloids. He, of all people, should KNOW that they are never to be trusted. Although I didn't deny it like I should have, I was so hurt and shocked. I've got to call of this nonexistent thing with Niall. We need to do it officially and NOW.

I storm up to the door of Niall's flat and started banging on it. "NIALL JAMES-- ER, JAMES GET OUT HERE!!" I stop myself remembering that other people don't know he lives here. I hear the door unlock, a hand reaches out and pulls me in.

"Really! You almost blew me cover!" he says. "Sorry I forgot. Niall we need to end this 'thing' that everyone thinks we have going on." I tell him. His head snaps up and he sits down next to me on the couch. We sit in silence for a few minutes thinking. I look at Niall just in time to see a light bulb light up, as he thinks of an idea. Well not literally about to light bulb but oh whatever.

"I've got it!" Niall says sounding like a guy yelling 'Eureka!' I look at him waiting to continue. When he doesn't, "Niall? What?" I ask. "I can't tell you yet. Just. Just be ready tonight at 6. I'll pick you up at Harry's. Something fancy." He says and shoos me out of his flat. I wonder what the irishman has planned. Well I have a date tonight.

Liam's POV  

Dani & I missed our flight and we won't be able to fly back until the storms die down. Apparently the turbulence is crazy and dangerous. I sigh and called Harry with the news. After hanging up, I shrug and decide there's nothing I can do, so Dani & I go back to the hotel and stay another night.

Lia's POV 

I'm so thankful Harry's family have let me stay the past couple of days. Especially thankful that Harry has let me talk and vent to him but it's not enough. I need a girls advice. I pulled out my phone and decided that a friend would be flying out here. I scrolled down to the name, knowing she comes to London a lot, and clicked message.

Hey. I need you to come down. Please. I'm in London. -Lia

I sent her a text knowing she'd get it. Moments later I got a text back from her.

I'll be there soon. :) -Caitlyn

I knew I could count on Caitlyn! I sigh a breath of relief and laid on Harry's guest bed. A knock hit the door and I called whoever it was in. "Hey Lia. You ready to head back to London?" Harry asked. I look around, realizing I'd actually miss this place but nodded. "Sure." I told him. He nodded, "Alright we'll leave after lunch okay?" I nod, he leaves and I begin to pack up to go back to the nightmare.
