Firkle glanced at his watch, leg bouncing as he nervously chewed his lip. The three people that he could tolerate sat around him, mumbling to eachother as they smoked and looked edgy. " Firkle what are you so stressed about. Thats kinda not goth dude" Michael frowned at him in concern. " Huh? Nothing. Im fine." Firkle shrugged, not realising that his excitement was showing and deciding to stop his leg from moving by jumping down from the wall to instead lean against it. He checked his watch again, taking a deep breath. " Ok guys I gotta go now... Or whatever" He said, pushing off from the wall and flicking his hair out of his face a little. " Ok.. Death and despair to conformists" Henrietta waved half heartedly, the other two mumbling in response and nodding their heads. " Death and despair to conformists" Firkle waved, walking away. His black lips cracked slightly upwards into a little smile as he left, remembering where he was going. He had a movie date with Ike. He would never admit that he actually liked the boy, not to his friends and not even to Ike most of the time so he often lied, saying  that he was going home or had some anarchist hobby that no one knew about. In all honesty, when Ike had first asked him out he had internally screamed in happiness, but of course to everyone else, it just looked like he had smirked. He walked past a window, noticing his hair was a little messy. He looked around quickly, making sure that no one could see him, then brushed it to the side with his hand. Michael always told him that caring about your appearance wasn't goth, but he couldnt help wanting to look good for Ike on their first official date. He frowned when he approached the cinema, not seeing Ike anywhere. He thought that he had timed it perfectly so that he would arrive late, a while after Ike to make himself look cool and not too eager. He groaned, stopping outside of the cinema and checking his watch again. " BOO!" Ike grinned, jumping out from behind a bush and making Firkle scream. Firkle turned bright red, clapping a hand over his mouth and looking away while he tried to steady his heart rate. " Sorry Firks, s'what happens when you're late" Ike shrugged as Firkle snapped his head round to face him, frowning, face still red from embarassment at the scream. " Asshole" He muttered, rolling his eyes at the smirk on his dates face. " Hey you deserved it! Plus,   you're cute when you blush" Ike winked, making Firkle blush harder. " Whatever conformist, lets just go" Firkle said, pushing past Ike into the cinema and walking a little ahead to hide the smile on his face. " Hey Firks dont be like that, I'll buy you popcorn to make up for it?" Ike suggested, making Firkle look at him, before smiling a little and nodding in agreement. Ike smiled wider, happy with the expression on Firkles face. " You want a drink too? Oh we could get nachos! What about chocolate and pr-" Ike offered, way too eager to please the boy who he had spent months trying to convince to go on a date with him. " Ike, shut up" Firkle chuckled, making Ike smile back at him as he ordered an extra large popcorn for them to share. " Is it weird to order coffee at the movies?" Ike thought out loud, making Firkle roll his eyes, laughing lightly. " What? I like coffee ok?" Ike grinned. The pair decided on ordering two Colas instead, Firkle having to hold his with two hands due to its size. " Why do they make these so fucking big" Firkle rolled his eyes, before looking up to see Ike easily holding his in one hand, popcorn in the other. " You were saying?" Ike teased. " Ok Mr Freakishlybighands" Firkle huffed, his eyes lingering on the slender, veiny hands of his date for a little longer than neccessary. " Mhhmm, its me with the weird sized hands" Ike smirked sarcastically, motioning towards Firkles small ones. " Ok shut it or I burn the school down and blame you" Firkle scowled, his little smile giving away that he wasn't genuinely annoyed. " Mmmmm.. I think they would believe that coming from  the boy who I've stopped from committing arson about... 7 times now?" Ike teased, Firkle shrugging. " Not my fault that the conformists don't want burnt stuff" Firkle said as they entered the room. " Damn the trailers are nearly over" Ike frowned as the message popped up on the screen. " Isnt that a good thing?" Firkle asked blankly as they sat down. " No! The trailers are the best part! They get you hyped and you can talk to your super awesome goth date while you watch" Ike grinned. Firkle rolled his eyes, grateful that the darkness of the room hid his blush at the dorky compliment. " What? Thats like saying you only watch Terrance and Phillip for the ad breaks." Firkle squinted at him. " Well I mean I would if you were with me" Ike shrugged, turning his attention towards the screen as the lights dimmed further. " Stupid.. Conformist" Firkle mumbled under his breath, heart racing as the butterflies in his stomach made him feel all warm and loved, which he figured was not very goth of him. The movie began, Ike taking some popcorn from the box on his lap, tapping Firkle on the shoulder to prompt him to do the same. Firkle's eyes lit up as he remembered the popcorn, eagerly shoving a hand into the box and grabbing a handful before stuffing it into his mouth. Even in the darkness he could see the smirk on Ikes face, deciding to roll his eyes and flip him off in response. Not after long, Ike found himself fishing around  in the box for the last few peices of popcorn, blushing when his fingers  brushed against Firkles. He chuckled lightly at himself, shaking his head at how cliché the night was turning out. " He gave up on the popcorn, instead choosing to watch in amusement as his date tried to grab the last peices whilst his eyes were too focused on the movie to look at the food. Ike smiled, tilting the box so that the peices fell into the small hands searching for them. He watched as Firkle leant his hand down onto the armrest, finished with the popcorn. He bit his lip, suddenly nervous as he contemplated lacing their fingers together. He wanted to hold his hand, but what if Firkle didnt? He was normally so closed off.. Maybe that wasn't just an act? Was this date really only to get him to back off? Doubts raced through Ikes mind as he hovered his hand over Firkles, ignoring the movie as he tried to decide what to do. Firkle noticed him staring, drawing his attention away from the movie for a second to frown at him in confusion. " What?" Firkle hissed, noticing Ikes hand above his and smirking. " Dumbass" He shook his head, holding his dates hand and looking back at the screen. Ike felt his heart jump, a goofy grin spreading across his face as he squeezed his dates hand a little. After the movie, the pair stood up, hands still linked as they left. Ike was excitedly babbling about something in the movie whilst Firkle smiled, enjoying listening to the boy and watching the expression on his face. " IT WAS LIKE, FIRST HE WENT LIKE WHOOOSH, THEN SHE CAME IN AND KACHOW!" Ike grinned. Firkle was surprised that he had seen any of the movie, given that he had seen the idiot out of the corner of his eye admiring him for almost the entire hour. " What did you think of it?" Ike asked happily, more interested in whether Firkle had enjoyed his time. " Eh.. Wasn't horrible" Firkle shrugged, Ike grinning as he knew that that was Firkle speak for ' I loved it'. " Uh.. Firkle?" A nasally voice asked, making Firkle freeze, the hand that was still attatched to Ike gripping tighter in fear. " What are you doing here. I thought you had to do something" Henrietta said blankly, before looking up at Ike who was smiling friendily at her. " And why is this dumb conformist here" She scowled, pointing at him. " Uh.. I.." Firkle stammered, quickly letting go of Ike when he noticed that she was staring at their linked hands. " He.." " -He was helping me with a group project" Ike finished helpfully, making Henrietta frown. " At the cinema?" She asked. " ..Media studies work?" Ike asked, his throat becoming dry under her stare. " Huh.. " Henrietta responded, clearly seeing through  the lie. " Look fine! Im on a date. With Ike. And yes I know he's a conformist and yes I know he's an annoying shit but I really like him and I don't care if you guys don't" Firkle said, his voice determined and making Ike raise an eyebrow in surprise. " Wow... Not caring what we think.. Thats pretty non conforming of you Firks" Henrietta smiled. Caught up in the adrenaline rush, Firkle continued. " Yea! It is! And I want him to be my boyfriend! " He said, making Ike smile widely. " Whatever man, as long as he doesnt get his conforming-ness all over my goth shit thats fine with me" Henrietta agreed. " Its fine with me too!" Ike added eagerly, making Firkle roll his eyes as he blushed, realising what he had said. " Shut up conformist" He smiled, punching Ike lightly on the arm. " YES! GOT ME A CUTE GOTH BOYFRIENDDD!" Ike screeched embarrassingly. " GOOD FOR YOU MAN" Someone yelled back from across the street, Henrietta and Firkle both flipping him off on instinct.
