Liam cleared his throat before looking at me with you know that awkward look your mom gives you after she's caught you doing the weirdest thing?

"I'm guessing you no longer need my help?"he said with an arched brow.

"Liam" I snapped my head up. Trying so hard to hold back laughter.

" What are you doing in the middle of nowhere with an Adobe?"

"Daniel? He,uhm,-"

"Let's just go,Jessica."

"No,"I said and I wasn't at the least intimidated by his arched eyebrow.

"I'm not leaving Daniel."

"Oh,"he chuckled,"I see,well,you might want to when you hear that while you're here having your fun,your brother is in a hospital bed,fighting for his life."

"What?"

"That's right. Victor sent Brian to kill Jason to get back at you for running away or in his words confusing his nephew's heart,if he has one."

I didn't miss the remark in his answer but I let it slide.

"Now,tell me,do you think he's worth it? If you keep this up,I'm telling you,you're gonna bury all your loved ones."

"I have to leave now,you can leave with me or stay with him,it's up to you."

"She's not going anywhere with you,"Daniel said authoritatively.

"I'll be waiting for you in the car,"Liam turned to me after staring at Daniel with an arched eyebrow in amusement.

"Which part of she isn't going anywhere with you did you not understand?" Daniel asked,barely keeping his temper under control. It was a little funny. One would swear he was the wolf and not Liam.

"Adobe,why don't you just stay the fuck out of this,Jessica is eighteen, not eight,she can decide for herself" Liam shouted,getting worked up too.

Daniel then looked down at me,"well,do you wanna go with him?"

Sure. Things got a little steamy a little while ago and my brain was still a little confused. Being this close to him and inhaling his scent all over again was making my head spin but my brother,I had to be there for him like he always was for me.

"Uhm,I-"

"See? She doesn't wanna come with you,why don't you accept it,you prick." Daniel said to Liam.

"No,that's not what I'm sa-"

"Jessica, I drove two fucking hours to be here. I had to cancel a hot date with my girlfriend and this what I find yo-"

"Wait,you have a girlfriend?" I asked in surprise. It must have just fallen off his lips because the look on his face right now told me he wished he hadn't mentioned it.

"Oh my Gosh,Liam! Finally!I'm so happy for you,"I hurried to hug him until he asked me to release him. I was so used to this,I never broke off the hug with someone until they said they couldn't breathe. Yeah,that's pretty embarrassing, isn't it?

"Yeah,thank you but the point is,you can't just expect me to drop all of that for nothing,"

"Dude,that call was a mistake. As you can see,Jessica is safe. Why don't you go eat that French ass?"

"You fucking asshole!" Liam fumed but made no sign of attacking Daniel.

"The fact that I got the brain is just cherry on top of the cake,"he winked as he repeated my words.

The old Liam would've already lost his control. I was amazed by the way he was keeping his temper under control,though I could see him shaking a bit and clenching his teeth.

My eyes then moved to Daniel who wore the classic crooked smile but I knew he wasn't less dangerous.

I sighed as they stared each other down. If I didn't make up my mind,one of them would die.

I hugged Liam's arm which was a clear indication of my choice.

"So what? You're leaving with him?" Daniel looked at me painfully as I stood beside Liam.

"Just how dumb are you,Adobe? She's clearly chosen," Liam said with hope of getting a rise out of Daniel,probably. If that's it,I longed to advise him it wasn't the wisest thing to do.

"Jessica?" I looked down when his eyes showered mine with guilt.

"How can you leave me after what just happened? Does it not mean a thing to you?"

I couldn't let him continue torturing me. I couldn't stay with him. He also wouldn't let me go without a fight but I knew just how to hurt him.

"You said it wouldn't break us apart if it's true,"he reminded me.

"I guess I lied,"my words were poisonous, even to me. I walked away before I could find his eyes again.

"Jessica,"I heard Daniel call behind me but I didn't stop.

I broke into a run when warm tears flowed down my cheeks.What the hell was happening to me? Why was I feeling like this? Why did walking away from him hurt so much?
