Merry Christmas!
Hyunjin and Jisung were sitting side by side, in front of them were Jisung's parents and they were peacefully eating, talking, joking, and smiling at each other. They didn't even think about anything else, except for their happiness. Right now at this exact time, with these particular people, Jisung was the happiest person on the planet. Hyunjin had his first real Christmas and being with family eating the family Christmas dinner with his sunlight, he was just as happy and Jisung was.
There was one thing they were waiting for. Opening the presents. Jisung wanted Hyunjin to see all the packages for him and to feel special. Hyunjin wanted to see his boyfriend's smile when he sees the teddy bear. Jisung's parents wanted to see their own baby even happier.
When the dinner was already at its end, Jisung's mother looked at them and smiled.
"Jiji, baby, you can go to sleep. It's too late and you guys have to be fresh for tomorrow, right?"
"Sure, yes mom." He said and stood up. "Do you want any help?"
"No, I will help her." His dad came and hugged her from behind. "Go get some sleep."
Hyunjin and Jisung went upstairs. Hyunjin didn't say anything, but his entire time he was somehow looking like he was going to start crying at any moment.
"What's up, baby?" He whispered, closing the door at taking Hyunjin's hand. "Are you okay?"
"Yes." He said and continued to the window as if there he would find peace. His eyes were almost leaking. The tears were hard to swallow at this time.
"Hey, hey! Jinjin!" Jisung smiled, trying to cheer him up, but it didn't happen. He came closer and hugged him from behind. "I'm here. If you want to cry, I'm here to wipe your tears, If you want to talk, I'm here to listen to your worries."
Hyunjin turned around and wiping his tears, said "It's fine."
"It's not. I'm seeing it." Jisung said and took his face in his hands. "It's not, love. I see that you almost bear everything. I can see how you're dying to tell me everything, I'm seeing you, almost lost in your own worries. I know you didn't have someone to talk with, I know that no one cared, but I do. I care, I want to listen to you, I want to try helping, I want to be the one to take care of you. You did that for me once. Now it's my turn."
These words made Hyunjin feel better. Yet, he wanted to tell him everything. But he was scared that one day he would be alone again. He was scared to lease him because everything he had at this moment was Jisung.
"I don't have a family. They kicked me out. I lived with my grandma, but I moved to study in Seoul. All the money that I have is from my scholarship and my grandma, but she can't give me a lot. I don't have many clothes and I don't eat much these past few months. I've never had a Christmas diner, I've never had a family to sit at the table with. I had only my grandma and when I was younger and I still lived with my parents, they used to make excuses that I was too bad this year, so I had to stay in my room. I was scolded for breathing and that kind of stuff. I was the black sheep to everyone, instead, they loved the little Marry."
"The little Marry?" Jisung asked.
"My cousin. My father's sister's child. She was three years old and they called her a genius because she poured her mom a glass of water." Hyunjin whispered. "Anyway, so when I told them about my sexuality, they kicked me out and I had to live with my grandma. She... She's not the best, but at least she's giving me money. I came to Seoul because I wanted to live my own life. I didn't need anyone, except for that I needed money to live. I needed to have something to eat, I didn't." He whispered and looked at Jisung. "And I've never had a normal Christmas. I just got sad, because I see you and your parents and you look like there's nothing that's possible to ruin this relationship. Also, they know about you, they're so open to me, they're acting like they're my parents, and they don't even know me." Hyunjin cried out. "How can some people be like that and others are just like "I'm gonna kick my son out because he likes other men", could you tell me?"
"Baby, hey..." Jisung placed a hand over Hyunjin's wet from the tears palm. "I know it's sad and I know that you're feeling sad right now because it somehow brings you back, but you can just forget the past and be here. You can forget the awful things and open your arms to hug the good ones that are coming. For example, one of them is that my parents are really glad that there's someone with me, someone that's showing how much I mean to him." Jisung whispered. "They see how much you care about me, they see me smiling, they see me being actually happier than ever. They're really glad that I'm with you."
"And you?"
Jisung didn't answer. He took his face closer and kissed him.
"I love you. You're here for me all the time, you show how much do you care about me, you're... You're my fucking dream, Hyunjin. And you're here, it's true." Jisung whispered. "So please, just stop your crying and be happy about what's coming, because it is going to be a great part of your life."
"I want it to be the better part of my life from now on till the very end." He whispered and kissed Jisung too. "I'll never gonna leave you!" He reminded him and kissed his forehead. Jisung looked up and smiled. "I love you, Jiji!"
"I love you too, Jinjin." Jisung chuckled at the nickname and kissed him one last time.
