August 1973Remus Lupin felt like death.
Every bone in his body ached.
His veins felt like they were on fire under his skin.
His muscles felt like they were stretching so impossibly far they were ripping themselves from his tendons.
His head was throbbing so much his vision was blurring and his balance was off.But here he was.
The boys needed their school supplies going into their third year. it was the only week they all had mostly available and they were not doing it separate again this year.
Last year Peter forgot almost everything he needed for potions class, James was missing two of his books, and Sirius had no equipment in his size for quidditch.
Last year was a nightmare, they were not doing it again.
This year the four boys had split up the tasks between them. Remus was on his way to get their class books when it happened.
He suddenly and without warning was engulfed in an all consuming electric current.
It wasn't unpleasant and it didn't hurt at all
In fact he felt....
Better.A cooling rush of water flowed through his veins quenching the raging inferno.
The ache in his bones dulled to a point of not even being there.
His muscles which had once felt like they were being stretched beyond their reach, were now receding back into their rightful places.
The throbbing in his head ebbed to a dull tightness he could easily ignore.
The part of him that was usually more animal than man at this time of month submitted under the touch of this mysterious person.
He felt energized for the first time In days.He pulled away slightly to be engulfed in all consuming blue.
Her eyes were a shining grey/blue that made Remus believe he was standing in the eye of a storm.
"You looked like you needed a hug"
"Do you hug every stranger you meet?" He smiled at her.
Her responding beam back at him soothed parts of himself he hadn't been aware needed it.
"Only the ones who look like they could really use it."
"'Healing hugs' you should market that." He told her as she pulled away.
"Then who would be your 'healing hug girl'?" She smirked at him.
"Masondrit!" She turned her head slightly at the familiar call of her name.
She looked at him like she knew everything he didn't.
"I'll see you around maybe?"Remus was puzzled by the brief encounter with the girl.
Why does he feel so much better?
"Yeah..."He watched her walk away for a minute longer before he shook his head.
Who cares why he felt better, all that mattered was that he did.
He turned back around to continue his shopping, but not until after he treated himself for some chocolate.
