"That feeling is back again." Meae said absently from beside him.

Severus glanced at her without once breaking the stride of their morning walk. He'd noticed the changes in her behavior as the third task approached, of course he did, she hadn't been as subtle as she thought.

She'd complain all day about being accompanied anywhere, but Severus knew she didn't want to be alone. Meae was constantly glancing back over her shoulder as if she'd catch someone watching or even following her around the grounds. The action lessened when she had company, but it never vanished.

Severus only grew more ill knowing that if the rumors about her brother were true, she had rightful reason to be worried.

He would kill her.

"Have you talked to Dumbledore?" He asked her.

Meae scoffed. "I'd rather die than tell that man anything."

Severus stopped their pace abruptly, Meae only stopping when she noticed he wasn't next her anymore.

She turned back to look at him.

"Severus? What is it?" She asked gently.

He continued to stare angrily down at the ground as he gathered his ambition and breath, before moving his glare towards her. She continued to look at him, confusion clearly exposed upon her face.

"I wouldn't." He said.

Her confusion only deepened.
"What?" She asked.

"I wouldn't." He said through clenched teeth.

She shook her head still not understanding what he was talking about. "Severus I don-"

"I wouldn't rather you die than talk to Dumbledore!" He shouted. "You are Light Meae, this world needs you! I NEED YOU! This 'feeling' has been plaguing you all year, and you've never got them for anything less than catastrophic. I am asking you to do me this favor, talk to him... I don't care how you feel about him, do this for me? Please?"

The words had fallen from his throat before he could take them back, Severus Snape was not a man to beg. The only times he had, had been thrown back in his face and he promised himself to never do it again.

But Meae was his best friend, without her, he had no one. He was no one.

So selfishness had won out, because he knew Masondrit Night would do anything he asked of her should he only ask. She had every reason to not trust Dumbledore with anything, because he had been proven many times to be a man unworthy of her trust.

And yet.

Maybe it was Severus who was the untrustworthy one.
