June 1975
Severus found her alone, in a compartment on the train.
It was odd to him, seeing her by herself.
She hadn't noticed him yet, her head perpetually stuck in some book or another. He couldn't see the title, he wondered if it was something he'd like. She always recommended stories she read to him, if she thought he'd like them.
There wasn't anyone to recommend him ridiculous stories anymore.
Blood Traitor
The word kept getting caught in his head.
That's what he'd called her.
It's the same thing those people had called her...
But he wasn't any better than them he supposed.
This had been the plan.
He chose his side and now he had all sorts of meetings lined up for himself over the summer.
He glanced at the blue haired girl again.
He wondered what she had planned for over the summer, now that she wasn't going back to that place.
Had she found somewhere to stay?
Would she ever forgive him for what he had to do to protect her?
He'd write to her, he decided.
Once he figured out where she was staying that is.
Severus was jolted forward by a force from behind himself. He turned around with that famous sneer on his face, only to have it intensify once he saw who it was.
"Snape."
"Lupin." He said back coldly.
Severus still hadn't forgotten the bones the other boy had broken or the blood he spilled down Severus' face, that fateful day.
The Gryffindor looked casually into the compartment they currently stood in front of before turning a deathly glare back onto the Slytherin.
"You dare come anywhere near her-" he started.
Severus scoffed. "Like I'd want to be anywhere near the schools dirty Half-bloods and Mutant Traitors?"
He rolled his eyes before turning around, pausing as he caught a last glance at the quiet girl in the compartment.
Severus took a deep breath to compose himself.
"Take care of her." He muttered to the boy.
He started walking calmly past the compartments back towards where he knew the other Slytherins would be waiting for him.
