August 1994

"Ok, you have everything packed for tomorrow?"

"Yes."

"Your robes, books, all those notes for potions-"

"MEAE!" Harry groaned "yes I have everything, I swear. You don't need to worry."

She sighed glancing at him anxiously before she turned to Moony and gave him an expectant look.

Uncle Moony chuckled from his place down the hall.
"We'll send him anything he forgets, and I promise we will be on time for the train tomorrow."

She smiled slightly mollified "alright, Harry I will see you tomorrow. Sirius, Remus is in charge while I'm gone."

Padfoot dropped his crossed arms and stood up straight eyes widening in outrage.
"WHAT?! I don't need a sitter! I'm a grown man Blueberry!"

She laughed as she opened the door.
"Love you lot, see you soon!"

The door closed swiftly behind her, leaving the three men alone in the house for the first time.

Padfoot grumbled slightly still in outrage, before giving Harry a mischievous smile.

"Want to play those video game things till Remus makes us go to bed?" He asked

Harry lit up at the suggestion "yeah."

September 1994

The platform was hectic.

It seemed to Harry like every Hogwarts student brought their entire families to see them off this year, he assumed it had something to do with the sly looks Moony and Padfoot had been exchanging all morning.

Harry was curious but chose not ask.

"Alright Harry. Exciting year ahead of you!" Padfoot said clapping a hand on his shoulder.

"Yes, yes. We best not keep him too long Pads, our Harry has a train to catch, and we promised Mason not to say anything..." Moony interrupted.

"Oh Harry!"

A sea of red's and oranges blinded Harry's vision temporarily, while heat encroached his body by way of two strong arms wrapped around his person.

"Alright Harry?"

"Yeah, how was the rest of your Holiday?"

Harry laughed at the tall red headed boys that flanked either side behind their mother.

"Don't mind them mate, they just want you to tell them about Miss Night." Ron said as he approached

"Do not!"
"Yeah! It's been a whole week since we've seen Harry, truly, we missed his messy hair!"

Mrs. Weasley detached herself from Harry. Before facing Sirius and Remus with a stern look.

"Now you two see here! I think we need to have a little discussion about the proper way to show gratitude! I don't need either of you two worrying about my family and silly things like robes it's mine and Aurthur's jobs to worry about our own family we don't need either of you two-"

"Wait! Molly I'm sorry." Remus interrupted gently "but I'm afraid Sirius and I don't have any idea what you're talking about."

Harry could see Sirius look curiously over at him, Harry couldn't help the flash of guilt that ran through him.

He hadn't thought Mrs. Weasley would be so upset...

Sirius noticed the guilt flash through his expression.

"Harry... do you know what Molly is referring to?" He asked suspiciously.

Harry nervously wrung his hands before he looked at Mrs. Weasley.
"I'm sorry... I didn't know you'd be so upset. I wouldn't have told her if I knew it'd upset you!"

Mrs. Weasley cast him a curious look.
"Told whom what dear?"

"W-well, Meae consider's me family, and I consider you all family, so she said that made you her family as well.... and... well families take care of each other, don't they?"

Harry almost panicked as he saw tears start to form in Mrs. Weasley's eyes.

"Oh Harry!" She said as she took him back into her arms.

"You're our family too dear." She said

Harry wanted to stay in the warm embrace as long as he could but...

"Mum! We have to go! stop giving Harry the only good part of these goodbyes and let us have our turn!" One of the twins shouted from behind him.

Mrs. Weasley carefully extracted herself from Harry's embrace as she wiped at the tears in her eyes.

She sniffled as she addressed Remus "oh if only Gideon could see the woman she's become, he'd be absolutely beside himself."

Sirius must have seen the confusion on Harry's face "Gideon and Fabian Prewitt, Molly's brothers. Died in the war, Gideon and Blueberry dated a bit, he was totally in love with her." He whispered to him.

"Did she love him?" Harry asked

Sirius looked a little lost as he thought over his answer. "She did, but not the same way I'm afraid."

Harry nodded to this, it felt like there was something he wasn't being told but he brushed it aside for now.

"Alright you lot quit your simpering it's time to go!" Charlie yelled at them.

"Tell us what's happening at Hogwarts!" The twins yelled back while being shoved on the train.

Harry turned towards Moony and Padfoot
"What's happening at Hogwarts?"

"You'll find out soon enough, see you soon!" Moony said as he pushed him towards the crowd of students boarding the train.

"Charlie you git! Tell us what's happening!!" The twins shouted out the window.

Severus found her in the kitchens prior to the student's arrival.

She was fervently chopping vegetables laid in front of her as a small house elf read through her lesson plans aloud for her to hear.

She'd been acting oddly ever since she'd arrived the day before.

Severus could feel the not-so-gentle nudging in his chest, that something was wrong, upsetting her.

To anyone who didn't know her as well as he did, she'd look extremely focused.

He knew better.

The furious multitasking was a sign she was stressed, it was an effort to keep her hands and mind busy so unpleasant thoughts couldn't plague her.

"Meae" he said just loud enough for her to hear.

She looked up at him and he could see the uncertainty and worry in her eyes.

"Severus..."

"What's wrong Meae?"

Her breath hitched as she held back her panic, and a lone tear finally spilled from her eyes.

"Something bad is coming..."
