August 1994

Harry was really hoping Sirius could figure everything he needed out soon.

His godfather had promised to come take Harry to his new home as soon as the man was set to take him. Sirius's trial ended weeks ago, and yet here Harry was at the Dursley's, still waiting on him.

Harry made a mental note to himself to get Miss Night a 'thank you' gift. The Professor had gone above and beyond all Harry's expectations for Sirius's trial.

Professor Lupin had told Harry previously that the trial shouldn't take too long, but the trial took seven days. There were multiple occasions Harry believed everything was for naught, but then Miss Night stepped in. The woman was a force to be reckoned with, she knew Sirius was innocent, and she wouldn't leave that hall until she convinced every person in the Wizengamot she was right.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione, had all been called as witnesses to Pettigrew's confession. She'd rallied Professor Lupin, Dumbledore, and a cousin of Sirius's to attest to his character, Andromeda Tonks.

By day five the Wizarding Court finally acquiesced to the request for both Wizards, Sirius and Peter, to be questioned under Veritaserum.

From there, everything finally looked up for them. They'd won their case for Sirius's innocence, forty-seven to three. Some annoying Lady in Pink, Fudge himself, and a blonde man with disturbingly blue eyes were the only ones to vote against.

But that was weeks ago, and here Harry was at the Dursley's, still.

He was excited to head over to the Weasley's later today for the World Cup, but until then he still had to put up with the Dursley's and their nonsense.

Breakfast thankfully was a quiet affair, until the peace was broken by a sudden knock on the door.

Harry looked at the time on the wall

8 o'clock

Surely that couldn't be the Weasley's already? Ron's letter had said five....

The entirety of the room's occupants stared warily at the door.

The knocking started up again.

"Don't just sit there boy! Get up and fetch the door!" Vernon growled.

Harry sighed and rolled his eyes as he got up from the table to see who was at the door.

Coincidentally it was the last person Harry ever thought he'd see, standing on the other side.

"Hey Harry! Sorry I'm a bit late, had to apparate a few blocks away. Sirius said the Dursley's were non-magic, right?"
