Severus Snape was not ready for the Holidays to come around.

He had so hoped to spend another Christmas at Hogwarts with Meae this year, as they had the two previous. Unfortunately, Severus's mother had written him to come home this year, for what reasons he still didn't know.

Currently, Severus was making his way towards the Hufflepuff common room. Mason had shut herself up in there recently since the two's incident with the current divination Professor.

Severus had told Meae the Professor was battier than a fruit cake, but The Professors words seemed to rattle her nonetheless.

Severus paused as he came to the entrance by the barrels. He quickly glanced around to make sure no one was near. Meae had trusted him with the Hufflepuff password, he couldn't let anyone else know he had it, especially those Marauders.

When he was sure no one had seen him, he quickly knocked the password and watched as the enterance opened to him.

It was always strange entering the Hufflepuff common room. None of the Hufflepuff's had ratted Meae and him out to any teachers yet, that was more than he could say for anyone in his own house.

But it wasn't just the students that made the room so strange to him, it was the overall atmosphere. Severus knew he belonged in Slytherin, and maybe it was just the company of Meae, but the Hufflepuff common room always felt homely to him.

The entire place was a stark contrast to Severus's own common room. Where Slytherin was dark, Hufflepuff was light. The house of Green and Silver vs. Yellow and Black; elegance vs. comfort.

Severus found her where he always finds her, the windows looking out to the grounds.

He approached her cautiously.

This year had already done a number on her, and it wasn't even half through yet.

"Meae?" He said quietly

She continued to stare out the window.

"Meae look, if it's about what that old bat said yesterday... She's a nutter alright? Merlin knows she's never told a true prophecy to save her li-"

"Elias asked me to come home." She said.

"What?" He asked.

"He says he needs me... I'm heading home for the holidays." She told him.

Severus was stunned.

She'd talked about Elias before, plenty of times, in fact.

From what Meae has told him, Elias and she grew up in the same place. Technically they both still live there. But Elias and Meae are different from the other children there, Meae is a pureblood witch, and Elias is a werewolf.
