Corl
"Yo y'know Sub's gone mute again?" Star asked me with a worried tone as we walked into the backyard, or as Denis and Elijah liked to call it, the training field.

"No way..he swore to me he'd never go back there." I said in disbelief.

My Corl senses were already tingling. Something was off, whether it was with Sub, or someone else in his circles. I looked across at him practicing some combat moves with Denis. He started to wear a mask like he used to, but it was more revealing and frankly a little scary. Denis was terrible at hiding shit, at least to me, and I could tell he was just as confused as everyone else. I already knew what I had to do, and I knew just where to start. Something told me this had Alex Light Orman's name written all over it.

"Give this to Denis for me please, I have a little something to deal with." I said, handing Star the bag of ice I was holding.

Alex was in Blue Moon's lab while she was out buying late Christmas gifts for her younger sisters. She already told me she was buying new clothes for Moonshine. It was true that she needed to change out of her usually torn clothes and stop abusing her clothes with the washing machine.

I leaned on the open door, hoping for Alex to look up from the book he was reading at the time, but he never did. I coughed loudly which caused him to jump and throw the book at me.

"Holy fuck Corl..don't scare me like that.." he finally said while catching his breath.

"Yeah you'll be fine. What did you do to Sub?" I said, looking directly at him. I knew that he'd look away from me if he was lying.

Alex looked confused before he remembered something. "We broke up..I thought he would've told you that by now knowing you guys." he said like he was uncomfortable.

"I know that. But you're telling me you haven't seen him recently? He's reverting back to old ways. What the fuck did you do to him?" I said, crossing my arms.

"Okay first off back up, you're way too close." he said, pushing me back. "And secondly, you know me well enough to know I'd never hurt Sub that bad. The breakup was both of our ideas and he can even tell you himself that he felt happier after it."

"What about a couple years back? You hurt him then."

The silence after that statement was so sudden I thought I went too far. But at the same time the burning flame inside me to get to the truth was growing bigger and bigger and if Alex was actually lying to me, I had him now.

"You know I couldn't control myself. You know that since then I've completely changed. I don't know what the fuck you want me to tell you. I didn't and would never do that shit to him."

Alex walked out of the room and I could almost feel the tension radiating off of him. I could hear the pain in his voice when he said those words. I honestly felt like I pushed a button I shouldn't have, but who else could've done this to Sub?

Deep down in me the fire was rekindling, as I started to feel like Alex was lying to me. The pain and those words were real, but he's hiding something and I can feel it. For now though, I'd have to interrogate other suspects.
