Blue Moon
"Elijah, if you don't sit still I can't finish." I said, laughing. I'm not going to lie, he was so adorable when he acted like this. It reminded me so much of his demon and this kinda of personality was hard to come by."But you've already stuck 24 needles into me. I can't feel my arms anymore!" he whined, his hoarse voice making it funnier for me.
"Just one more."
Elijah reluctantly stayed still and allowed me to give him the final shot.
"See? Wasn't that bad." "The numbness will wear off in about 15 minutes." I said.
I changed the bandages around his arm and his left wing. He's for sure been through a lot in this past week.
He looked at me like he wanted to say something, but stayed silent. It reminded me of when Ethan was with me the other day. The way these twins think alike is fascinating. Almost freaky and unnatural.
"What're your plans now that we kinda have a break?" I asked Elijah, trying to break the silence.
Elijah jumped slightly at the unexpected question. I don't talk a lot so I don't blame him.
"Well I'm going to relearn how to fly for like the 6th time with Ethan.." he said slowly. "But what about you? I've never seen you take a break." he continued.
"Because I don't? I have a lot on my shoulders every day-"
"So do we."
"Well you guys are human so-"
"You can't live on earth unless some part of you is human. For real, how 'bout you take the day off."
Elijah Light Best knew how to manipulate people into saying or doing exactly what he wanted them to do. It's not even like a magical power, he just naturally knows how to get people to do what he wants. There was really no getting out of this one anyway - without Sunny doing more bullshit, I can't track her soul. With that there's also the fact that the guys won't need me to help them with their injuries even though they rarely do in the first place considering Sub has healing powers.
Overall I just hated interaction with others. I'm antisocial. Everyone who once "looked up" to me would see a completely different side of me. The fear of that alone already had me sweating and for the first time my demon had something to feed off of. Ever since that livestream Star tried to do back in Zayadin, I haven't felt peace about myself in general.
On the other hand, what's the harm in stepping outside your comfort zone? For the approximate 2000 years I've been living - I never have - so better late than never.
"Let's go for it." I finally said.
The way Elijah's eyes lit up made me feel warm inside. It's crazy how he could have a child's enthusiasm even in adult years. Everyone in the team had that trait actually. That's probably why Star chose them.
