Denis
"Denis, I get what you're doing; I respect your decision, but I'm not a dog." Alex said, pulling at the collar around his neck.

As a last resort, I put shock collars around Alex's and Corl's necks so that every time they fought, they'd get shocked. It was Elijah's idea and although neither of them were on board, it seemed like the best option in my opinion.

"Alex, you're literally are one.." Corl muttered.

I remembered the freak accident with our pendants that made us hybrids. None of us thought much of it, in fact we all thought it'd be cool to have animal abilities. That just meant so much more practice with our powers - the amount of stuff I've clawed to shreds is unreal. It seemed almost way too convenient to be able to hide that part of us as it was also a "power".

"I don't remember talking to you Corl." Alex said.

Before they started arguing, I decided to shock them. It was actually kinda fun on my part, but I had to remind myself the point of this whole thing. Our friends' lives depend on us and the two of them were making it so much harder. I could tell Elijah was already tired of it; I couldn't imagine how I'd feel if my twin brother who I grew up with was overtaken by evil and on top of that practically on death row. This was Sunny we we were talking about and she's crazy.

"Denis I have a lockdown on the general whereabouts of Ethan and Sub." Amie said.

"Thank God." I said. "What do you got?"

"Besties have Sub located in April Acres..y'know that old farm industry place in Winchester?" Star said.

"When did you get here?"

"Me and Moon were upstairs the whole time! Amie called us down to help her with this thingy."

I shrugged and left it at that. With their help, I had more confidence in letting Amie and Gabby take on Sunny.

"We all agreed 5 minutes ago that once we locate Sunny we'll go for her and that's when you are gonna start whatever you have planned. Since they're possessed by her, the strength will be less if she's focusing on taking us out." Gabby explained.

"I'm on board with that." I said. "I already have some ideas so me and the guys will start working on that."

"'Kay talk to you later." Amie said.

I hung up and turned to the rest of the team. "They're at April Acres, so that gives me enough time to plan and for us to get in place for when the girls call us when they get to Sunny's location."

The response was a dead silence which kinda startled me, but the reason was staring me right in the face. Alex and Corl decided to give each other the silent treatment while Elijah was at a loss of words presumably for whatever they had done before that. His mind seemed to be in the same place as mine; where he was not only tired of hearing Alex's and Corl's voices but also filled with worry for his brother and one of his closest friends.

I sighed and teleported us to the only place I remembered in April Acres, which happened to be a main road on the outside of a cane field. In the middle of what looked like a 50 acre plot, there was a huge farm industry type building which obviously pointed out that Sub and Ethan were there. Even if we didn't realise that, there was a yellow flag with the one tattoo we associated with Sunny and the hybrids hanging over the top of it. Looking at the environment, I was already starting to form a plan in my head.

"Whatcha thinking?" Elijah asked, breaking the silence.

"I think we should just go for it." Braden said.

"We can't." I said. "We gotta wait on the girls' call so we know when they get to Sunny. I feel like we could use this field to our advantage but I need to figure out how."

"Well whatever it is, figure it out fast because they're coming."

As I turned around, I could see the doors opening. Our first instincts were to get down and stay hidden in the field until I magically came up with a way to restrain them. If we went two on one for each person, we would be guaranteed a win.

"Me and Elijah, Corl and Alex. We could choose who we want to take on but if we 2 on 1 them, they can't win." I said.

"Okay that's not a good idea at all, I don't want to and will not work with him. Even if I did, he's stubborn as hell and with their and our lives on the line, it's not wise, even from a 5th grader's pov." Alex said.

"That's why I chose to put you together. You guys can't stay at a disagreement forever, and this is the way I'm gonna break it. The mere fact that lives depend on it now - you guys have to work together now."

"Um Denis-" Elijah started.

I dismissed him subconsciously; focusing way more on Ethan and Sub.

"You guys ready?" I asked.

"Hell no." Alex answered immediately.

"Okay you expect me to work with a baby?" Corl asked, giving me a look.

"That is exactly why."

"Did you just call me a 'that'?"

"Well I know no human being acts like you do."

"If you guys don't shut the fuck up!" I shouted. It was sudden and took everyone by surprise, but most importantly the plan was going to fail if we didn't move quickly. At this point I just had to hope for the best.
