Moonshine
I opened my eyes and jumped up. I was in a bed, my mouth taped shut and bruises all over my body. Then I remembered what happened.

We were found out. It was a guy with that same tattoo Braden was on about. He found us so quickly it was like he knew we were there.

"Okay before you say anything, we're good people." Star said, putting her hands up.

I gave her a dirty look and she slowly brought her hands down again.

"What are y'all doing back here?" he asked.

"We don't have to answer to you." I said, crossing my arms.

"Actually, you do. Because I'm part of staff here and you all are in an authorised area. And none of you work here. That could get you all arrested." he said.

His voice was low and in command. His blue eyes stared right into mine and he wore a smirk, like he was waiting for this moment. But how though..

Either way, unless we ratted ourselves out about being superheroes, we could get arrested..not like I couldn't break out or whatever, just that Star would be nonstop whining about her dad grounding her until her 2000th birthday. Braden, on the other hand, was scanning the man up and down, clenching his kikoku in his hand tightly like he was catching onto something I wasn't.

"Nice tattoo ya got there.." Braden said, trying to change the subject.

The seriousness in the guy subsided and he quickly laughed, but Braden maintained focus.

"It's cool right?" the man kept saying.

Suddenly, Braden's sword came into contact with the man's uniform, slicing it in half. It revealed not only a slightly less buff body, but scales along the man's arms. He looked up at Braden in shock while Star and I laughed so fucking hard I think the room shook.

"You know someone by the name of Sunny?" Braden asked, trying not to laugh as well.

The man's blonde hair suddenly stuck out and he hissed at us, showing us a snake like tongue. He immediately went for me and tried to bite me, but I simply moved aside. Braden then froze him and all of us took a moment to breathe.

"So it's a hybrid. Never saw that coming." I said, kicking the human ice sculpture.

"I did though..if he's a hybrid and we just let a bunch of people out. They're either test subjects, or they're hybrids as well. That also means that the guy Alex and Denis went to see-"

"Is a hybrid as well!" I yelled, cutting Braden off.

Star already had her phone out and was dialling Denis' number. She also tried with Alex, and no answer from either of them.

"Imma go by the station." Star said, putting her phone away.

"Wait I wanna come too!" Braden said.

"Aw you care about them."

Braden let out a laugh. "No silly! I'm gonna rub it in Denis' face! Alex and I are kinda in a truce so I can't do it to him."

"I'm going to watch that." I said, giggling.

"So what about that guy then?" Star asked.

We turned around to see a puddle of water. The door was still closed so he must've just escaped.

"You shoulda used more ice." I told Braden.

It was at that moment when something hard hit my head, and I heard Star scream. Everything went blurry as I felt punches in the side of my head harder than I've ever experienced. During that, I could hear the hybrid shout in pain meaning that Braden and Star were doing something to him. I felt his body slip off of me and heard one of his bones crack. I heard the door open and despite my efforts to bring myself up to my feet I was too weak to do so.

Now I was sat here with no clue of what happened to Braden and Star, where they were, and how I was gonna get out of here, because I knew damn well this shit wasn't gonna go well.
