We begin at night in Alola as some strange, black being emerges from come crystals in an unknown area. It looks to the sky and sees an Ultra Hole that opened up and sees the two Legendary Ultra Beasts, Solgaleo and Lunala, come out of it. It then glares at them right before flying to the sky and dashing towards them. We now skip to next morning as Ryan and Ash wakes up to start the day.
Ash: I slept great!
Pikachu: Pika!
Rotom: It's the start of a new morning, zzt!
The rest of Ash's Pokémon were yawning as they were starting their new morning. Poipole flew over to Ash but was looking around, confused.
Ash: What's up, Poipole?
Rotom: Looking for something, zzt?
Just then, Ash and Pikachu's belly began to rumble.
Ash: Time to eat! Time to eat!
As Ash was climbing down the ladder, Gino was busy pulling Kukui up the stairs.
Ash: Gino! Professor! Alola! Huh!
Kukui: Hmm? Something wrong?
Ash: That's what I should be saying!
Rotom: Why have you buttoned up your coat, zzt?!
Gino: I've been asking that too!
Kukui: Huh? 'cuz it's cold.
Gino: He's even wearing a T-shirt!
Kukui: It kinda feels like there's a heavy cloud hanging over me or something...
Ash: Where's Professor Burnet?
Burnet: Right here...
Professor Burnet was laying down next to the fish tank.
Ash: Are you alright?!
Burnet: Yeah... Just a bit sleepy...
Ash: You're not going to the ocean today?
Burnet: I'll just observe these instead... Good enough. *Yawn*
What's this? They seem to be acting somewhat strange today... Well... Whatever... As some time passes, we go to the Pokémon School where Ash and Gino enter the classroom.
Both: Alola!
Sophocles: Alola... Man, I'm so hungry...
Gino: Didn't you have breakfast?
Sophocles: No. Mom overslept, for once.
Ash: Really?
The rest of the group walked through the door with concerned faces.
Ash: Alola!
Mallow: Hey, listen to this. Dad didn't do any of the usual morning chores today, saying he didn't feel up for it!
Kiawe: Same here. I had to work like crazy to finish taking care of the Pokémon before doing my deliveries.
Lana: Me, too. Dad didn't go out fishing, he was just lazying about at home.
Lillie: James was acting somewhat oddly as well.
Ash: For real?! Professor Kukui and Professor Burnet were acting weird too!
Lana: Weird how?
Gino: Well...
Professor Kukui: 'sup...
