At school, Sophocles and Ash, along with Gino and Kiawe, were watching a commercial for a car.
"What's this? It's super cool!" Gino beamed.
"Right? It's called a Charjabug Car." Sophocles spoke.
"Charjabug Car? Never seen it before." Kiawe said.
"The Charjabug Car is a car that runs on the electricity that Charjabug generates. They say it's faster than you could ever imagine a regular Charjabug moving." Sophocles explained.
"That's impressive." Kiawe praised.
"And they have a huge race every year!" Sophocles said.
"Sounds fun." Ash nodded.
"Yeah. Really? Did it pique your interest? I really, really want to join the Charjabug Race. But you need a group of three to enter. Please, join the with me!" Sophocles begged.
"Well, I'm in!" Gino waved.
"I'm totally in!" Ash raised his hand.
"Alright! Kiawe?" Sophocles asked.
"But we have three people." Ash said.
"We can maybe have four people." Gino shrugged.
"Very well. However. If we are to join forces... we must aim for victory, and nothing less!" Kiawe Yakked. He was burning like the Wela volcano.
"Victory..." They all stared.
"Isn't that nice, Charjabug? We've got some reliable teammates." Sophocles said.
"Let's fight to win this!" They put their hands in a circle. "Yeah!"
"It's so hot... Don't you think it's hot in here?" Mallow fanned herself.
"I think it because of them..." Lana pointed to the boys.
"Yeah!" The boys cheered.
"Oh?" Lillie said. Her Vulpix jumped from the table. "Snowy?" Snowy froze the boys.
And so, Ash and the others decided to participate in the Charjabug Race. It's time to start practicing.
Sophocles held up a car. "...So I brought the Type 3 Kit!"
"Cool! Let's start driving it right now!" Ash said.
"There's something we have to decide first. What roles will the four of us play on the team? One's the director, who gives instructions. Then there's the mechanic, who performs maintenance on the vehicle and switches the tires. And finally there's the supporter runner, who runs alongside Charjabug and helps it overcome obstacles." Sophocles defined.
"They're all vitally important jobs." Ash thought aloud.
"Then, Sophocles, you should obviously be the director, since you know the most about there races." Kiawe suggested.
"Then you be the mechanic, Kiawe." Gino said.
"Me?" Kiawe questioned.
"You do complicated stuff like fixing the fences at your ranch all the time, right?" Gino asked.
"Well, I guess you're right." Kiawe nodded.
"Then I'll be the support runner!" Ash waved.
"Yeah!" Sophocles cheered.
"Well now I don't have a job." Gino huffed.
"You can be a... storage person? You can keep track of the supplies!" Ash said.
