Ash and the others have left the Alola Region to go on an extracurricular class in Kanto. Today they'll get to experience a Gym Battle here at Cerulean Gym. They opened the door and the inside was humongous. A Pokémon was in the middle of the battlefield.
"Huh? There's something there." Gino said.
"Oh, it's Psyduck!" Ash blurted out.
"It's so cute!" Lana commented.
"Psyduck, good job looking after the place while I was out. Welcome to my Cerulean Gym!" Misty announced.
"I haven't felt like this in a long time! Now I really want to start the battle quickly!" Ash beamed.
"Let me introduce you again. This is the Cerulean Gym Leader, the Water type Pokémon trainer, Misty." Professor Kukui said.
"Nice to meet you!" Misty smiled.
"The former Pewter Gym Leader, the Rock type Pokémon trainer Brock." Professor Kukui added.
"A pleasure!" Brock waved.
"I want you to have a battle with these two that's as intense as a Blast Burn!" Kukui announced. "Pokémon Trainers in the Kanto Region... travel from Gym to Gym to battle the Gym Leaders there. If they win those battles, they receive a Gym Badge as a symbol of their victory."
"The Cerulean Gym gives out the Blue Badge!" Misty held out her badge which was shaped as a water droplet.
"And this is the proof of victory against the Pewter Gym, the Gray Badge!" Brock held his out. Brocks was shaped as a rock.
"It's so beautiful!" Lillie gasped.
"Yeah." Lana nodded.
"You collected the Badges from Kanto, right?" Kiawe guessed.
"Pretty much. I got all eight of them!" Ash smiled.
"Ours he got out of pity, though." Misty emphasized.
"Yeah, I guess that did happen." Brock agreed.
"Is that true, Ash?" Kiawe asked.
"Once you've gathered eight Badges, you can challenge the Pokémon League!" Ash changed the subject.
"Pokémon League?" Mallow repeated.
"It's a Pokémon Battle tournament where plenty of strong trainers gather!" Ash explained.
"Well then, let's get right into some battle training with Misty and Brock! Who wants to go first?" Kukui asked.
"ME!" Everyone raised their hand.
"I want to fight Misty!" Lana said.
"Okay! It's settled!" Misty nodded.
"One more for Misty!" Mallow raised her hand.
"I want to face Brock." Sophocles said.
"So do I!" Kiawe added.
"I wanna battle both of you!" Ash beamed.
"I... I don't know..." Lillie thought to herself.
"Hang on! Well then, how about this?" Misty said. It was a 1 v 2, Misty against Mallow and Lana. "Now, let's do this!"
"Guys! She may not look like it, but Misty's pretty tough!" Ash yelled from the bleachers. "Give it your full power!"
"What do you mean "pretty tough"?" Misty asked. Lana, Mallow! Don't hold anything back!"
"Leave the recording to me, zzt!" Rotom said.
"Alright, let's do this! Steenee, Magical Leaf!" Mallow yelled. Steenee shot leaves at Psyduck which circled around him.
