Everyone was sitting outside waiting for the battle to begin. Rockruff was barking and Ash put on the Grassium Z.
"Let's go Rowlet!" Ash yelled. He did the Grass type pose. "Bloom Doom!" Nothing happened. "Hmm? It didn't work."
"Wrong!" Mallow stomped over to Ash. "Yesterday, I told you it was like this." Mallow posed.
"53% synchronization with the example." Rotom calculated.
"Even though your motivation is high." Kukui commented.
"Ash, are you sure you can do the trial?" Sophocles asked.
"Don't worry! I'm excellent in key moments!" Ash replied.
"I hope so." Kiawe said.
"It's my first time seeing a trial, I'm so excited." Lillie beamed.
"Me too!" Lana nodded.
The rest of Ash's Pokémon ran to him. "Oh, Rockruff, you wanna train too?" Rockruff then bit Ash's hand. "You're really motivated. We'll totally get past the Trial with that excitement."
"Ash, do your best." Kiawe cheered.
"Yeah, I'll do everything in my power!" Ash said. They all headed toward some ruins.
"These are the Life Ruins, the trial place." Kukui stated.
"Life Ruins?" Ash repeated.
"These are the ruins that God of Life from Akala, Tapu Lele. Today, we'll see your trial. And we'll support you as well." Kukui said.
"Okay, there I go!" Ash began walking down the stairs. Everyone else took a different route to the battlefield.
"Let me record everything." Rotom said.
Olivia was walking towards the field with her Lycanroc.
"Olivia!" Ash shouted.
"You're here, Ash!" Olivia noted.
"I'm ready!" Ash bowed. Olivia looked at Rockruff who looked angrier than usual.
"Let us start the ritual of the Island Trial! The Wela Volcano, that protects Akala! The God of Life, Tapu Lele! Protect this young man who does the Island Trian and give him strength!" Olivia announced.
"Olivia looks awesome!" Gino commented.
"It's like she's another person!" Lana added.
"So, are you ready?" Olivia beamed.
"Now it's the Olivia from always." Lana noted.
"Yes!" Ash replied. Rockruff walked in front of them and growled. "Rockruff! Calm down, Rockruff!" Rockruff bit Ash and hopped from his arms. "It hurts..."
"Rockruff isn't calm..." Sophocles observed.
"What's wrong with it?" Lana asked.
"Let's start the battle of the Grand Trial. Both sides, get your Pokémon ready." Kukui announced.
"Let's start the most incredible battle from Akala!" Olivia said to Ash.
"That's what I was waiting for!" Ash nodded.
"My buddies are all Rock Type Pokémon! Go, Probopass!" Olivia threw her Pokeball.
"A Probopass!" Sophocles gasped.
"I never seen one before!" Mallow added.
"Probopass, the Compass Pokémon, Steel/Rock type! It can manage three units emitting magnetism." Rotom explained.
