Ash and the others have finished their field trip at Hokulani Observatory. It seems they're now heading for the ferry terminal, to go back to Melemele Island. Poipole notices a sign and flies over to it.
Ash: What's this?
Sophocles: It says "Shortcut to the ferry terminal".
Mallow: Did you know about this, Sophocles?
Sophocles: Yeah. There's a route through these caves that goes straight to the port.
Ash: Sounds kinda fun!
Sophocles: Wanna go this way then?
All: Yeah!
They all went into the cave and it was getting dark.
Lillie: By the way, Sophocles, will you be alright in the dark?
Sophocles: Well, yeah!
They entered a part of the cave where the walls were glowing.
Ash: Awesome! The wall's glowing!
Sophocles: It's covered in luminous moss. That's why it's bright.
Mallow: Ah, so you don't need a lamp. How convenient!
Gino: And it's a bit chilly in here.
Sophocles: Apparently one of the routes in this cave goes to Lanakila Mountain!
Lillie: This must be an incredibly big cave, then!
Kiawe: We'd be in serious trouble if we got lost...
Sophocles: We'll be fine! We just have to walk straight forward, and we'll reach the port just-
Marowak began spinning its bone around and chased the other Pokémon around.
Kiawe: Hey! Stop that, Marowak!
Turtonator went in the way and Marowak headbutted him and knocked him onto it's spikes.
Kiawe: Not good...!
Turtonator then falls onto the back as the spikes touch the ground and explode, launching everyone into a different direction. The first group was Pikachu, Lycanroc, Torracat, Poipole, and Turtonator. They all fall to the ground and get up as they look around.
Pikachu: Pika, pika?
Lycanroc: Roc?
Turtonator: Turtonator.
Torracat: Meow.
Lycanroc smells the ground to pick up a scent from anyone. It picks up a scent and begins to follow it. The others follow behind them. The next group was Sophocles, Togedemaru, Lillie, Snowy, Mallow, Steenee, and Ralts.
Sophocles: Ow! Are you all right?
Lillie: We're fine.
Mallow: Steenee and I are okay too.
Steenee: Steenee!
Sophocles: That's good. Oh, it seems that Ralts is here with us. But what about the others?
Lillie: They don't seem to be nearby.
Mallow: Which means...
Lana, Popplio, Gino, Marowak and Rotom were the last group.
Lana: We got separated.
Marowak spat Rotom out of its mouth.
Rotom: I finally got out, zzt...
Gino: It's alright. Let's look for them together.
Rotom: You can leave that to me, zzt! I'll navigate us to the others, zzt!
