The festival of the eclipse, the Manalo Festival, is coming up. Me and Ash went to the Pokémon School just like any other day, but for some reason, the Professor and the other grown-ups were acting strange. The Ultra Guardians were asked by Lady Lusamine to come to the Altar of the Sunne to help with something. I, on the other hand, was helping out with schoolwork to get my mind clear from the confession mess I made. I really made my life worse, didn't I? How can I ever see him again? But then, something great happened. There, in the sky where the moon was, Lunala emerged from the Ultra Hole. But another creature, one that matched my drawing perfectly, appeared with it. Was this my chance to finally leave Alola for good? Would anyone care that I left. Certainly not, since no one bothered to look for me when I left the classroom. Lady Lusamine wouldn't mind if I have a closer look at Lunala, would she? I think I know how to see Lunala, but it will take some breaking and entering...
Lunala is in trouble and being chased by the Ultra Beast, what will become of it? We go over to Melemele Island where Team Rocket, the usual trio, was and Jessie and James were acting all strange.
Jessie and James: Sigh...
Meowth: Will you stop sighing already?!
Wobuffet: Wobuffet!
Jessie: But we're not selling anything...
James: Maybe I'll just quit this job...
Meowth then sees something flying by as he takes a look on his binoculars.
Meowth: That's the legendary Pokémon, Lunala! What's that?! Hey, look!
James: What's that?
Jessie: It might be a mega rare Ultra Beast...
Meowth: In any case, we gotta contact HQ!
We now to to the other Team Rocket in the aircraft as they finally seem to have gotten to Alola.
Matori: Gozu, what's going on?
Gozu: What do you mean?
Matori: Ever since we arrived in Alola, I've been feeling hopelessly lax...
Gozu: Yeah... Me too... Wanna go back?
Alolan Meowth: Meowth!
Team Rocket popped up on the screen ready to inform them about their discovery.
Meowth: Big news! What, what?! Matori, what's with that outfit?! Where are you right now?!
Matori: It doesn't concern you. Anything the matter?
Meowth: Lunala and a black, mega rare Ultra Beast have appeared over Melemele Island!
Matori: Oh...
Meowth: "Oh..."? You're not surprised at all?!
Matori: Gozu.
Gozu: . . .
Matori: Gozu!
Gozu: Head for Melemele Island at full speed!
All: What a pain...
Jessie: We're not gonna get it?
Matori: Yes, we are. But when I say "we", I mean Team Rocket's elite unit... the Matori Matrix.
Jessie: Matori Detox?
Matori: Matori Matrix!
Jessie: I see.
Matori: You guys stay out of this. Just go home. That's an order.
