Awaken Gino! The Mystery of Rockruff!

3 days have passed and Gino was laying in bed, still recovering. He woke up and wandered around the house. 

"Where is everyone?" Gino asked. He suddenly tripped out of thin air. "Oww... my leg." The door opened and Ash and Kukui were home.

"Gino! You're awake!" Ash jumped.

"What do you mean? How long was I asleep for?" Gino got up and almost fell but Kukui caught him.

"You were asleep for three days." Kukui explained. 

"Oh..." Gino looked down.

"Huh? Rockruff?" Ash looked around.

"Has it gone out somewhere, zzt?" Rotom asked Gino.

"How would I know? I was asleep for 3 days!" Gino yelled.

"Hey now, Ash... Where does your backpack go?" Kukui asked.

"Oh, I forgot!" Ash took his bag and put it in his room.

Pikachu got smacked by the dog door and Rockruff was there.

"Rockruff!" Gino went to Rockruff who was hurt. "What happened, Rockruff?!"

"It's been scraped, cut, scratched, and even burned too, zzt!" Rotom observed.

"Rockruff, let me see." Kukui said. Rockruff put out his paw. "This is going to sting a bit." He sprayed it and it yelped in pain.

"Did it get into a fight or something?" Ash asked.

"Jeez... You were suppose to be watching over the house!" Kukui picked him up.

At school...

"And then that's what happened." Ash explained about Rockruff.

"Um, in a case like that, wouldn't it have been better to put Rockruff into a Pokeball?" Lillie asked.

"But Rockruff isn't Professor Kukui's Pokemon." Ash said.

"What?" They all yelled.

"It's not?" Mallow questioned.

"Yeah, the Professor told me that he gave it Pokemon Food, and then it came with him." Ash said.

"Then it's a freeloader?" Mallow inquired.

"I thought it was part of his party." Lana added.

"Me too. I mean, it just gets along so well with Professor Kukui." Kiawe commented.

"Rockruff are known as Pokemon that get along well with humans too, zzt. Rockruff, the puppy Pokemon. A Rock type. It has lived with people since times long ago. It becomes stronger by running around." Rotom explained.

"Maybe it got hurt from special training." Lana guessed.

"Huh? Special training?" Ash asked.

"Maybe Rockruff is close to evolving?" Sophocles added.

"Evolving?" Ash asked.

"Rockruff's evolution, Lycanroc, has two forms. If it evolves during the day, it takes on the Midday Form. If it evolves at night, it takes on the Midnight Form." Rotom said.

"Huh? Its evolutionary form changes depending on the time?"

"Furthermore, when Rockruff is close to evolving, it becomes more aggressive and independent. If, all of a sudden, it disappears, it might return unexpectedly one day as its evolved form."

"Really?!" Ash yelled.

At home...

"I'm home!" Ash yelled. Rockruff ran towards him, very excited to see him. "Were you a good pup today?" Rockruff jumped onto Ash and nuzzled him. "Ow, ow, ow, ow!"
