"Who was it?" Zaide asked as Thomas dragged him through the woods towards the main road.
"Zara." Thomas replied shortly.
He wanted Thomas to explain more but kept a mum. He and Zara were allowed to have their own secrets. He did not want to poke his nose into things unnecessarily and irritate Thomas.
Looking up at the sky, Zaide noticed it was quite late. They had missed lunch and it was almost time for dinner. As soon as the situation dawned on him, his stomach grumbled as if on cue.
Thomas looked back at him and smiled. In reply, Zaide blushed.
"I'm hungry, okay?" He tried to hide his face by looking down at his feet, sticking his chin to chest.
Thomas pulled him and placed a kiss on his forehead. "You're cute."
Zaide's hair fell on his face, curtaining it, hiding his face more. He murmured a soft. "Thank you."
"Let's go home, Zaide." Thomas said and held him tightly in place.
What Zara had said that got Thomas in such a good mood was a mystery to Zaide.
