The first light of the dawn brought about and came through the window with the chirping sound of the birds.
Zaide felt at ease when he realized that Thomas was still there enveloping Zaide in his arms, throughout the night.
He did not want to let Thomas go, but he had to. Thomas had to get back home. They had school to attend. So, he shook the older boy awake. "Thomas?"
"Hmm?" Thomas startled and looked at Zaide, wide eyed. "What happened?"
Even if Zaide tried so hard, he could not help chuckling. "It's morning already. You've to go now."
Thomas looked around. He sighed as he gazed up at the ceiling, closed his eyes for one last time and got out of the bed.
His eyes were tired. He could barely sleep the previous night.
Zaide sat at the edge of the bed as Thomas got ready to leave. After only one lingering kiss, he left Zaide's room through the window.
