Thomas poured Coke into a red plastic cup and handed it to Zaide. He poured a drink for himself, took only a sip when a girl from Thomas' class came and pulled him away from the kitchen.
Thomas gave him an apologetic look, placing his cup on the counter before he was dragged away.
Zaide smiled at him. He placed his own cup on the counter and before his mind could catch up on what he was doing, he picked up Thomas' cup.
His heart was racing as he stared down at the content in it. With shaking hand, he brought the cup to his lips and took a sip from it.
Butterfly erupted in his stomach.
Before Zaide could stop himself, he took another sip, and then another. He felt so happy, giddy, even. He could not explain why.
He put the plastic cup abruptly on the counter as a thought crept into his mind.
