Zaide felt that feeling again, the feeling of being watched.

He wanted to go and check out of the window, but he knew he would prove himself wrong, again.

There would not be anyone. He tried to console himself.

Zaide concentrated on his book again or, at least, he tried to. The thought of Thomas, and his warm breath, his arms, occupied his mind to the point that there was no coming back.

A crack sound echoed through the night air. Zaide stared at the window with wide eyes.

He almost shouted when a hand popped up, but muffled it behind the book.

He finally quieted his racing heart when he saw the person was Thomas.

"The hell?" Came out of his mouth.
