Zaide broke into tears as soon as Thomas left. He cried himself to sleep right on the floor by the window.
The next day he literally felt down, mentally and emotionally exhausted. He felt weak, his head hurt, so he ditched the school with the help of his sweet mother.
She even cooked him his favourite food, Shepard's pie, which was tasteless for the first time in his life.
On the other hand, Thomas was restless when he found out that Zaide had not gone to school that day. His sanity was slowly taken over by his worry for the younger boy.
The only way he could deal with his feeling was to confront Seven. He basically threatened him which was a futile.
By the time lunch finished, he was knocking on Zaide's front door.
