The look of pure horror and despondency on Zaide's face mould a guilt shaped hollow in his heart for snapping at him. Thomas could not but gather him in his arms.
He was half tempted to never let the smaller boy go.
Zaide let himself be buried in his chest. It was the safest place on earth. He clung onto Thomas.
They stood there basking in all the warmth and bliss.
Zaide pulled away when the urge to break into tears subsided. He stared at the letter "v" on Thomas' t-shirt.
Thomas was yet to let Zaide go. His staring burned through Zaide's skin and without thinking twice, just on the spur of the moment, he connected his lips to Zaide's for the briefest of seconds.
Zaide's expression was so unreadable that he thought he had ruined their friendship.
Although, he did not regret the kiss.
