As Zaide entered his house, he could smell the familiar aroma of his mom's home cooked chicken. It was mouth watering. He could feel the happiness in the air.
He followed the smell into the kitchen. His mother was there cooking food very attentively.
"Mom." Zaide laughed. "What's going on?"
"Oh!" She was a bit startled. "Honey, Andrew and his family is coming for dinner tonight." His mom replied.
"Thomas?" The name was out of Zaide's mouth before he could stop that.
She only nodded her head. "Yes, of course."
A smile spread across his face. "Okay." He responded.
"Please, Zaide, clean up your room." His mom spoke as he was about to leave the kitchen.
Nothing saddened him more than this last sentence that day.
