Jimin calls Jungkook, his phone rings twice but then they all see Jungkook entering back from the same exit, frowning at his phone. He looks up and as soon as his eyes meet Jimin's, he smiles and waves his phone, making his way over to the bar.
Jimin doesn't even give him time to reach the bar and he is lunging towards Jungkook to grab him by the collar, "What the hell were you doing?!"
Jungkook is taken back by surprise, Hoseok comes to his aid because Jimin might quite literally punch him in the face, he holds Jimin by his waist and pulls him back.
"Hyung--- what?" Jungkook utters, his eyes big.
"The girl, Jungkook. What were you doing with that girl? I and Taehyung saw everything," Jimin snaps.
Jungkook looks confused for a few seconds and then it clicks, his eyes widen in realization, "Nothing! I was just helping her safely go home because her ex was stalking her. I pretended to be her boyfriend or something to keep him away from us!"
"Yeah? And you want me to believe this bullshit?" Jimin yells again, he can't help it - he has always been protective of Taehyung.
"Look I booked a cab for her, I'm not lying." Jungkook unlocks his phone and shows the recent booking of a cab.
"Did you book her a cab, after you kissed her?" Jimin snaps.
"Jimin shut it! He is saying he was helping someone, why're you still doubting him!?" Yoongi yells back at him.
"Wait-- what do you think I was doing?" Jungkook asks in a small voice because he understands, it's clear on everyone's face. But some part of him still refuses to believe it, not after all these years and all those efforts. He is not dumb, he knows what Jimin is talking about.
No one says anything, everyone looks between him and Jimin, "Y'all thought I was cheating on Taehyung again?" He says, eyes downcasted. He fiddles with the hem of his jacket because after all these years he is the same old Jungkook in everyone's eyes.
All his Hyungs look at him with saddened eyes, he ignores them, "Where is Taehyung Hyung, I bet he left."
"No, he is outside," Hoseok says and then they all mindlessly follow Jungkook as he goes outside.
As Jungkook expected, Taehyung is not outside, "Jimin Hyung, can you call him for me? I just need to know he is safe."
Jimin wordlessly nods, realization hitting him slowly and he dials Taehyung's number. Taehyung doesn't pick up the call but Jimin immediately gets a message from him saying that he is heading home.
"I guess then I'll head home too," Jungkook says, his mind hyper-aware of what Just happened, he shouldn't even be driving right now, he is not drunk but he is not sober either. He is also hurt but then again he has been hurt before so Jungkook thinks that he can handle this.
"Wait Jungkook, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have--" Jimin grabs his wrist, his eyes filled with regret.
"It's okay Hyung, It's no one's fault but mine." And with that Jungkook gets into his car and leaves.
All The way to his and Taehyung's place he keeps on thinking, he even stops the car by the roadside when his mind gets too foggy and it gets dangerous for him to drive. Some dark part of him also thinks what it would feel like if he just runs into some other vehicle and puts an end to all this. What would it feel like when he won't be hurting? He thinks that how he and Taehyung are maybe just not meant to be - some people are like this, who are just not meant for each other and it hurts too much to stay together. Jungkook thinks that some people are him and Taehyung.
Jungkook thinks about the mistakes he has made in his life, but how long will he pay for them? It's always like walking on eggshells.
Jungkook also thinks about his and Taehyung's relationship, how it always felt like they both were healing, how it always felt like home. But what Jungkook thought as home turned out to be just dominos, like if one piece fell, everything would crumble down.
Taehyung doesn't trust him, and probably never will. Taehyung doesn't trust Jungkook and he thinks that nothing can hurt worse than this.
