"Let me kiss you. Please."
So Jungkook does, pressing his lips to Taehyung's, kissing him with every inch of his love.
Kissing Taehyung has always been like sunshine, but kissing Taehyung after four years of longing is like sunshine after a storm.
Their lips move like a melody as Taehyung holds him close and tight, fisting his hands in the back of Jungkook's T-shirt. This is home, Jungkook thinks, cupping Taehyung's face to kiss him firmly.
They only pull apart when the urge to breathe is overpowering, still staying close to inhale the same air. Taehyung smiles looking into Jungkook's eyes and nuzzles his nose against the younger's before diving in to kiss him again.
Jungkook's fingers twitch from where he is holding Taehyung's face, an urge to cry his heart out is ever present. All the guilt, regret, remorse and pain wash away with every tear, with every movement of Taehyung's lips against his. He can taste the remnants of their tears into the kiss, the salty taste blending with that of Taehyung's.
He slides his hand to Taehyung's neck to pull him close, at this point even if they become one person it will still not be close enough. Jungkook can't help but smile when he feels Taehyung bite his bottom lip, a gasp leaves Jungkook's lips as he giggles into the kiss. Taehyung squeezes his waist, moving his hands over Jungkook's sides to grip him tight.
This is indeed home. All these years of being lost, Jungkook feels like he is found again.
There's an arch on Taehyung's lips as he pulls apart and connects their foreheads, looking into Jungkook's eyes. The calm and comfort that Jungkook feels right now is ecstatic.
"Stay, please." He says, using his thumb to wipe the shining spit from Taehyung's bottom lip. He wants to keep Taehyung as close as possible. There's the knack of fear in the back of his head that if he lets go, then Taehyung will slip out of his hands like water. Jungkook shivers at the mere thought of it.
Taehyung must have seen the fear on Jungkook's face because he gives Jungkook a reassuring peck on his lips. "Of course, baby. I'll stay."
There's a lot that they have to figure out, take baby steps before they walk and then run. But for now, Taehyung is holding him close to his heart as they lay down under the blankets, comfortable in the calm and distant sweet melancholy of waves hitting the sea shore.

After their weekend vacation at the beach house, everybody went home to celebrate Christmas. Jungkook is right now sitting with his niece in his lap. She is playing with Jungkook's hoodie strings, pulling them and giggling when Jungkook makes a noise of complaint. She turns one tomorrow, which also means that it's Taehyung's birthday too, both of them being born on the same day.
Jungkook has decided to call him later in the night, he knows that Taehyung is spending his birthday with Hoseok, Jimin and his other friends.
Over the last few days they talked a lot, catching up on what they lost in past years and figuring out what and how they will shape their future together.
"We'll take this slowly, Jungkook. Start from the bottom, go on dates and all. I'll try to give you more and more time and whatever happens you'll come and talk to me first, okay? And I'll listen" Taehyung had said, two days ago when he and Jungkook were talking.
It's past midnight and Jungkook fidgets in his spot on the bed as he dials Taehyung's number. He's giddy and nervous at the same time. The bell rings for barely two times before Taehyung is picking it up.
"Jungkookie! I was waiting for you to call!" He hears Taehyung from the other side, there's loud blazing music behind Taehyung like he's in a club or a party.
"Hey" Jungkook says. The music in the background starts to fade away as if Taehyung is going to some place quiet.
"Happy Birthday hyung," Jungkook can't contain his smile when he says that, from the other end he hears Taehyung let out a sweet laugh. "Thank you. Kinda wish you were here."
Jungkook smiles wider even though Taehyung cannot see it, "I wish the same hyung, wanna be there with you. I'm sorry I can't be-" He says but Taehyung cuts him off. "Don't you dare to say sorry, family is important too. We can always celebrate later."
"How bout' new years, let me take you on a date. Keep your schedule free for me?" Jungkook asks, expectations laced in his voice. It's obvious that he is nervous and he is sure Taehyung can tell that too.
"Okay! I'm all yours on new years." He hears Taehyung cheer from the other side, making Jungkook giddy, excitement pooling into the pits of his stomach.
"Send me pictures of your niece and call me tomorrow. wanna talk to you more, 'k?" Taehyung says, hurriedly. Jungkook hears someone calling Taehyung from the other side of the phone.
"Okay."
Jungkook is half tempted to say 'love you' or something around the lines of it to Taehyung, but the rational part of him holds back. Sure, they said the L word to each other on the night of their confessions but now that they're past the haze of hurt and hurting, it feels wrong to just throw in the L word. Jungkook wants to earn it, he wants to be worthy of Taehyung's love.
The easiest and most correct way of doing so is to start from the bottom, pretty much how all the relationships work. Go on dates, get to know each other, give time, spend time, build trust and everything that comes in between.
Jungkook sighs, looking at his lock screen picture of Taehyung smiling widely at him. It was taken on the day they both went to market. He smiles, fondly at the picture and swears to himself to make everything right.
