Hi! This is the chapter I wrote the book for. It also happens to be the longest chapter I've ever written. If you feel like talking to me after you read it, then my pms are open.

Enjoy ;)

___________

Taehyung comes and sits on the empty space beside Jungkook on the couch. In any other circumstances the setting around them looks romantically cliche, the stars shining above, sound of waves, luxury furniture adoring the patio, golden light flickering at Taehyung's cheekbones. In all it's beautiful, everything, except Jungkook and Taehyung's relationship (if you can even call it one).

Naturally Jungkook is nervous, so is Taehyung. He can tell so from how the elder plays with his nimble fingers. Jungkook gives Taehyung some time to figure out his thoughts, glancing at him and then towards the beach.

Both of them sit in uncomfortable silence like that for a few minutes, too afraid to talk or even look at each other, until Taehyung speaks, "I-I'm sorry, I shouldn't have lashed out on you like that, at least not in front of everyone. It was uncalled for," he sighs, looking at Jungkook expectantly.

"Why did you though?"

Taehyung fiddles with his fingers, Jungkook wants to reach out and hold them. "Um-I saw Yerim's messages. Are you and her a thing?"

Jungkook furrows his eyebrows, confused, "What? No! Wait," he says and then pulls out his phone to look through his inbox.

Yerim
Jungkook-ah
I miss you
Come over
Eunha is here too
So is Seulgi Wendy, Yugyeom, Bambam and Mingyu
We're having a party
Jungkook?

Jungkook turns his phone so Taehyung can read the messages, "Eunha is her girlfriend. Me and Yerim are just friends."

A blush creeps on Taehyung's face, contrasting under the golden light above them. "Oh! Sorry. I saw the first three messages and got mad," he says, rolling out another 'sorry' which really sounds odd coming from Taehyung. Isn't Jungkook the one who says sorry all the time?

"It's okay, don't-don't say sorry. You have all the right to be mad at me." Jungkook turns around on the couch, cross legged so he and Taehyung are sitting in front of each other. The nervous tension around them is palpable, making Jungkook anxious.

"Not like this," Taehyung mumbles.

Jungkook hums, looking at the elder. The events of the evening before come back, flashing before his eyes. He tries to ground himself, fisting his hands and controlling his breathing.

"Jungkook? Why did you-why did you cheat on me?" Taehyung spurts out. Jungkook's eyes widen at the sudden question, "I mean we were fine right?"

Jungkook cowers, he knows Taehyung will not understand, "I was lonely," he says, voice small. He has said it multiple times before and honestly his situation can be summed up into these three words but still he bares himself for further explanation.

"But why? You had me!" Taehyung says, irritated, trying to compose himself.

It still irks Jungkook, "No! No I didn't, not at least in the last few weeks." Or months, he has lost the timeline.

"I don't understand." Taehyung's shoulders slouch. He looks at Jungkook hopeful, this is their last chance.

It's like pulling a rope tight, as if holding a relationship but both of their hands are starting to hurt.

Jungkook picks one last speck of hope, hoping that Taehyung will hold, "It's a lot, you sure you want to know?"

Taehyung nods his head, hair bouncing from the moment, "Yes, I want to."
