"What happened the other night with baby girl? Did you talk to her for me?" Teddy asked.

I was in the middle of getting ready for work, this is the last conversation I wanted to have this morning. I didn't have time to argue with Teddy about what Lindsey's been up to, because I honestly don't know myself. I don't know how to talk to her and have her actually listen and open up to me. Every time I try to get close to her she either lies or pushes me away, that's why I'm going to talk to Mama after work today. I need to find a way to communicate with Lindsey before she does something she regrets.

I looked back at Teddy who was still laid in our bed. It was going on seven in the morning and he knew he had to get up, but he was bent on staying in the bed as long as he could. "She was lying to me the entire time. I don't believe anything that comes out of her mouth anymore, but I'm going to talk to Mama after school today to see what I can do about her. I don't know what's wrong with your daughter lately," I said as I pulled up my jeans. We were having a casual day at the school today and all of the teachers were allowed to wear relaxed dress, along with the students since this was apart of their spirit week for the dance they were having.

"She's acting just like you were when she was your age."

"When I was 16 I wasn't out getting drunk and doing Lord knows what with all kinds of men. Her little boyfriend looks like he's pushing 20, he doesn't look like he's in high school. When I was 16 I was stuck trying to get your attention."

Teddy laughed. "And you got it. Maybe that's what baby girl's trying to do too."

"You want her chasing after men? I'm not gonna allow it. I'm like 75% sure she was having sex with that boy in the backyard."

"Why ain't you say shit to her then?"

"Because I'm not completely sure, but as soon as I am completely sure I'm going to say something to her."

"You think my baby girl's having sex?"

"Weren't you at her age?" I asked.

He smiled. "Yeah, but so were you."

"For a matter of fact Mr. Reed, I wasn't doing that until I was 17. Don't taint my story when it's about your daughter."

"I know a girl that's getting fucked, and my baby girl ain't getting fucked."

"Well your baby girl's up to more than just getting fucked and I'm going to find out exactly what it is."

"Okay Inspector Gadget, you get the scoop on my daughter and report back to me when you realize how big of a mistake you're going to make when you realize you've wrongly accused her."

I rolled my eyes as I pulled my hair up into a ponytail. "I hate the way you always make me out to be the bad guy. You're just oblivious to some of the things she does because she's your only girl, and I can understand that, but there's gonna come a time when you need to open up your eyes and see what your baby girl is up to. You know when we were her age what the girls were doing, and with these kids nowadays, there's no telling what she's up to."

        "I'mma check into it."

I nodded my head. "Yeah, you do that," I said. "But in the mean time, you need to get up."

"Ion gotta be down to the club until 10."

"But Daddy's going to expect you and Deonte to be down there before 10 so you guys can go over everything before you talk to the design manager. You know how important this is to Daddy, and he said if you and Deonte can cooperate then he's going to sign the three clubs over to you guys and you'll have to manage them. Don't ruin this Teddy."
