"You really can't expect me to let you go out of the house wearing that. I mean, it barely covers your ass checks. Imagine the look on your father's face when he sees you walking around looking like that. Where'd you even get that skirt from? Because I damn sure didn't buy it," I ranted to Lindsey.
Lindsey was 16 now and I didn't mind her going out with a couple of her friends, but I minded her going out when she knew how the paparazzi liked to frame our family and create random lies up about us. Her going out in a skirt that barely covers her ass is unacceptable, period. If Theodore even sees her with this on, he'll go crazy.
Lindsey shrugged. "I got it when I went shopping with Ava the other day. It ain't even that big of a deal."
"So, you're fine with bending over and having your panties showing?"
"I won't bend over," she flatly stated.
I shook my head. "No. Take it off immediately."
"Mama! You're being so unreasonable! It's not even that short, like honestly it's not. You're seriously trippin' over nothing. I'm sure you wore shorter things when you were my age."
"Not with your grand father around. You have other skirts in your closet that cover up more of your body. Do you really want to go out showing off your goods like that?" I asked.
"I'm not even showing off my goods Mama."
"I don't give a damn. Take off that skirt and give it to me when you change into something new," I said as I stood up from her bed. I walked out of her room and closed the door behind myself.
As soon as I stepped out into the hallway, I bumped into T3. T3 was eight years old and had every same characteristic as Theodore. I already told Theodore years ago that if we ever had a little boy, we were naming him after him and Theodore the third would be to long to say, so we all call him T3 or Theodore since everybody calls Teddy, Teddy. I grabbed his arm, stopping him from running.
"Where you going?" I asked, bending down to his level.
"To my room to get my basketball. Pops is gonna play ball with me."
I smiled. "You're gonna kick his butt for me, right?" I asked.
T3 nodded his head. "Yeah Mommy. Can I go now?"
"Yup, be careful for me and kick his butt."
He ran off down the hallway to his bedroom. He shoved the door open and disappeared inside of his room, coming back a few minutes later with his clothes to play basketball in and a basketball in his hands, looking just like Teddy does when ever he's playing basketball. Teddy's retired now, but he still plays on his off time. T3 ran off down the hallway and down the long spiral staircase, just when Lindsey's door opened up.
"Mama, I really don't wanna give up this skirt," she said, pointing to the skirt in her hands.
I looked down at the new skirt that she was wearing. It strongly resembled the skirt in her hands, but it was a lot longer. It could have been a littler longer, but I'll take this over the piece of fabric she was previously wearing. I took the small skirt out of her hands.
"Look, we'll take this over to my Mom and see if it passes her skirt test. I think it's too small but we'll see after church on Sunday, alright?" I asked.
Lindsey nodded her head. "Yeah, whatever. Grandma will understand where I'm coming from. Can I get the keys to my car?"
"When ever you get your license," I responded. "I can drive you, your Dad can, or your Dad's driver can drive you."
