I sat up in Mama and Daddy's bed, yawning. After watching the movie Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor I was extremely tired and just irritated by the whole movie. I wasn't that faithful to Jordan, but I couldn't imagine myself committing to my husband, but secretly messing around with some other man. It's different when you're just dating, but when you're married, so much is on the line. Luckily Judith and Brice didn't have any children but the ending just grabbed at my heart. She deserved everything she got in the ending.
I looked over at Mama, who was basically in tears after the movie. I get it was pretty crazy, especially at the end when it was revealed that she was the marriage counselor telling the story, who happened to get a disease at the end, but I don't think it was enough to make anyone cry about it. It's Karma. I figured she'd get something for cheating on her insanely gorgeous husband, but I didn't think she'd get a disease like HIV. Her disease is almost like a punishment for her sin, to me.
I leaned over and tapped Mama. "You alright?" I asked her.
Mama quickly wiped up her tears with the end of her long sleeved purple pajama top. "Yeah, I'm good. It was just so sad baby, that's all. I didn't expect her to get HIV. I'm about to shower so we can go see your Daddy, can you get ready for me?"
"I kinda figured something would happen to her," I shrugged. "She deserved it for doing that though, but yeah I'll get ready."
I climbed out of Mama's bed and walked next door to my bedroom. Why was she crying so much over such a melodramatic movie? It's Tyler Perry for crying out loud. All of his movies are so overdone and exaggerated, it's crazy. It was kind of obvious something would happen to Judith in the end of the movie, but nothing that would make me cry. She deserved it for ruining her marriage and putting herself and her husband in danger. But even though the movie was very histrionic, I'd still watch it a second time.
After showering and brushing my teeth, I got dressed in something comfortable. Daddy was getting some work done at his club and wanted Mama and I to come out for a second and third opinion on everything. I was done with school, well the eleventh grade. I had taken my last final yesterday and didn't plan on going any days after that. T3 was still in school though. He's been practically begging Mama and Daddy to let him go, especially mostly because it was field day for the elementary and middle schoolers. When I dropped him off this morning, I could see them setting up the bounce houses, the cotton candy machines, the trampolines, the trains, and more. But the most important was the snow cone machine.
I pulled my curly hair out of the pineapple it was in and shook it and fluffed it to perfection. Mama was knocking on my door with tears still pouring out of her eyes. It looked like she never stopped crying over the movie. "You ready?" she asked, trying to wipe her continuous tears with a tissue but it was no use; the tears just poured out in buckets.
"Yeah, you sure you're alright Mama?"
She nodded her head. "Yeah, I just couldn't imagine cheating on your Dad like that."
"I know," I said as we walked down the steps. "Only a selfish person could do something like that to a good man, plus Lance Gross is fine. If I was his wife, I'd be so loyal to him and waiting on his every need." I laughed, causing Mama to slightly chuckle too. "But I just couldn't imagine somebody to evil to marry a man, just to cheat with somebody who could never measure up to their man. Like, yeah the man had money, but he didn't want her. But I would never cheat on my husband for some little boy who doesn't have as much money as my husband. I wouldn't even consider him a man if he can't make enough money for himself. Because if something happens, you'll be broke. And that man wasn't even cute no ways. If I would cheat, I'd cheat with Lance Gross, or Morris Chestnut, Channing Tatum, Drake...J. Cole or even August Alsina, but nobody ugly. I'd find me a fine man," I giggled.
