So sorry about the delay! I've been busy and my boyfriend came to visit and he lives out of state. Thank you to everyone who's been patiently waiting!

- Chapter 28: Debrief -

Sunako sucked in a deep breath, causing her nostrils to flare as a light breeze swept some of her raven hair aside. Her eyes took in the police station and all it's law enforcing beauty. She'd be lying if she said her heart wasn't currently beating in her throat. Swallowing hard, she forced it down as best she could and exhaled shakily.

If the absurd amount of brainwaves didn't make her spew the contents of her stomach first, then her growing anxiety would.

You got this. How bad can it be? It's just a few questions and then I'm good. The nurse affirmed herself as she unconsciously fiddled with the hem of her shirt (the occasional scab would snag the thin fabric).

Tucking some stray hair behind her pierced ears, she huffed before making her way inside. Yeah, I got this.

The cool blast of the air conditioner rushed past her. She didn't know what she was expecting, but the place seemed calm enough. The ambiance of phones ringing, papers being sorted, computer keys clacking, and subtle chit chat was nice on the ears. Now, if only she could say the same for the brainwaves because, after all, it was still a police station.

"Can I help assist you Miss?" Came the, clearly tired, desk worker.

Sunako gulped back her apprehension, braved a smile, and sauntered over. "Uh, yes actually if you don't mind. Mr. Tsukauchi wanted to speak with me?" It came out more as a question than it did a definitive statement. Sunako glanced at the name tag that sat lopsided on the left side of his shirt. Mr. Tachibana.

With tired eyes, the aged male nodded once. "He's out at the moment, but he shouldn't be long. You can take a seat." Mr. Tachibana gestured indolently to a small row of chairs behind the nurse.

With stiff limbs, Sunako thanked him promptly and took a seat in one of the handful of chairs. The fabric was both rough and smooth simultaneously, burgundy in color and probably in need of a wash.

A few moments passed by. I wish I would've brought my sketch book or even just a normal book. She exhaled before retrieving her phone. With a click of the power button, the screen lit up, and she observed the time. It had been no more than five minutes. Maybe I shouldn't have rushed so much.

Sunako slumped forward, her sights settled on the tiled floor as a gradual head ache came upon her.

So many brainwaves... She groaned tiredly as she pinched the bridge of her nose. Aya was right. I should've taken an ibuprofen. With a brief exhale, she did her best to ignore the growing pressure.

Several more moments dragged on before a familiar figure clad in his beige coat entered the building, a coffee cup decorated his hand.

"You're back earlier than usual." Mr. Tachibana noted flatly as he clicked away at the mechanical keyboard before him.

Sunako opened her mouth to greet the detective, but was swiftly and unknowingly cut off.

"Ah, yeah. Coffee house wasn't a total zoo today." Tsukauchi dawned a polite smile as he gestured with his disposable cup. "Any work come in? Anonymous tips? Reports? Anything of any sort?" He sipped his steamy beverage.

Mr. Tachibana shifted his sights past the younger male and situated onto Sunako's form. "Turn around. Said you wanted to speak with her."

The beady eyed male spun on his heel promptly and flashed Sunako a knowing smile. "Good evening Ms. Himura. I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long." He jested politely.
