- Chapter 13: Surprise Visit -

It had been a good month. Work was flowing nicely, the weather was decent, she had yet to be bothered by Detective Tsukauchi again, and it was almost as if everything had gone back to normal. Well, almost normal, she still double checked her locks at night, officer Deva was still making his rounds with her, and Doctor Sasaki hadn't been seen in weeks. Sunako was grateful for that and often times could ignore the leagues sheer existence if she focused or busied herself hard enough.

That should be everything! Right? I did grab all my stuff? Sunako mentally rambled as she stared at her bag. Yeah, I think I have everything. She zipped up the stuffed bag and swung it over her shoulder before stepping out of the locker room with a huff. Work had really beat her ass today, though there was some good. That good being that there had been no sign of any pro heroes in the bay that night, or for the past several nights to be exact. It made things a bit easier abd less hectic, though Sunako was curious as to what they've been up to, but she always figured 'it's just hero stuff'.

A small, yet turbulent brainwave smacked at the back of her head and she sighed as she heard a child throwing a fit down the hall. Must be getting a shot. The blue eyed woman figured as she shook off the lingering sensation of the brainwave and headed out to make her way home.

It was a rather quiet night. Not many people on the train, not that there ever was when she got off work, but it seemed to be more bare than usual and some train routes were temporarily down, which was odd. Though, she wasn't complaining. The less people there were, the less brainwaves, so the better.

Sunako rounded the corner onto her dimly lit street and sighed in content as she not only spotted her house, but also a parked patrol car. Officer Deva had gotten into the routine of waiting for Sunako to come home on her normal shift nights. It was half the reason she stopped picking up over time. The other reason being sleep.

I hope he hasn't been waiting too long. I'd hate to keep him from work. Lord knew she didn't want him to be further punished because of her ignorance or another repeat of him not knowing her general work hours. She had left a small sticky note for him in the door after the first incident, but she should've known the wind would steal it. She learned that lesson and used tape the second time.

Sunako smiled at the taller officer as she strolled up to him. "You haven't been waiting here long, right?" She questioned as she used her hand to grip her bag.

Officer Deva pushed himself off the car and smiled sweetly. "No, not long at all actually."

"That's good. I'd hate to get you in trouble." Sunako fished her keys out of her pocket and fingered them in her warm palm, searching for her house key. Not that she had many keys to begin with. She had one for her home, an old key that had no use to her anymore, a key to the locker room at work, and a bathroom key.

"Psh, they'll just have to deal with it." he remarked jokingly, making Sunako chuckle. "So, how was work? Endeavor give 'ya a hard time again?"

Sunako gripped her house key. "Work was fine, and no, he hasn't been around lately. Not that I want him to be anyway." How do I say he's an asshole without actually saying he's an asshole? Manners. That's what Kallen always says. Sunako mentally pouted at the thought of the brother like figure.
