- Chapter 23: Necessity Gift -

Sunako sucked in a breath and exhaled dramatically as she laid still on the twin sized bed that inhabited the guest bedroom of Aya's home (who had yet to return from work).

The nurse knew she'd only been laying there for a couple hours at most, but in all honesty she felt as though time had been stalled just to spite her. The blue eyed female opened her eyes for a brief moment and instinctively reached her hand up to finger the surface area of the night stand for her phone, though she (unsurprisingly) came up short.

She groaned before dropping the dead weight of her arm beside her. Yeah. Forgot my phone is now one with the Earth. Sunako grimaced at the sheer thought of the destructive villain who is Tomura Shigaraki and snorted. Asshole...

The occasional sting and not so dull aching in her muscles was enough to keep her conscious, though the exhaustion was very much present and weighing on her. She exhaled. I don't remember running being that bad. And I got up everyday and did it?! Shit...

Patchy's meows would echo through the home every now and again with the occasional scratch at the door. A spoiled brat she was and she wanted attention. In all fairness, Sunako would love to give the small feline pets and scratches, but her body would not allow her the unnecessary movement (and she wasn't going to argue). The cat's minute brainwaves went unnoticed by the ravenette, but the knowledge of them being there existed (though was not unwelcomed).

Sunako shifted in place with a deep groan. It was evident nobody had stayed in that room in years and so nobody had ever broken in the stiff bed, leaving her to pay the price. Though, part of Sunako felt this was just a small price to pay for letting such a villain back out into society. The black haired woman curled up with a pained look plastered on her busted face, but before the onslaught of guilt and anger could ravage her fragile mindset she heard the familiar sound of keys jiggling.

Sunako shot up, on guard despite her body's protests. Though, once the familiar (and now welcoming) brainwaves of Aya hit her, she eased slightly knowing there was no immediate threat. It's fine Sunako. Just chill. You're fine. Her affirmations did little to ease her racing heart.

Taking in a long sigh, she swung her battered feet over the side of the still made bed and stood up. "Fucking- Ugh." She hissed through clenched teeth, some spittle flying from her mouth. I didn't think it'd hurt this bad. Shit. Right... She screwed her sapphire eyes shut and composed herself before making her way to the hall. The living room light had been flipped on and Patchy was nowhere in sight, evident of Aya's arrival.

Hot tears stung the back of Sunako's glassy eyes as she took step after step. C'mon. You got this. You've dealt with patients worse than this! She exhaled shakily as another brainwave washed over her. They were Aya's alright; heavy hitting, bold, and steady. It was a very warm welcome and it only got better as she rounded the corner to find her orange haired friend petting her cat.

"Hey..." Was all Sunako managed as she leaned most of her weight on the wall in some sorry attempt to ease her good for nothing feet.

Aya's eyes found her so quick Sunako swore she herd her neck snap. The caramel skinned woman disregarded her pet for later and stumbled over to her best friend to wrap her in a tight hug.
