- Chapter 4: Blood Bath -

Clutching the plastic bag close to her chest, Sunako quickly made her way through the warp portal and back into the warehouse where Shigaraki laid still (she could almost mistake him for a corpse). Sunako hastily stumbled over to him and dropped to her knees once more, desperately putting her fingers to his neck to find a pulse. Please tell me he's not dead... And (as if the heavens were listening) a slow, shallow thumping hit her fingers. His pulse is so faint, I damn near missed it. Come on Sunako, pull yourself together. Sunako took in a deep breath an exhaled composing herself. Okay. You got this.

Pulling her fingers from his cold neck, Sunako dumped the contents of the bag out beside herself and grabbed a pair of sterile latex gloves, slipping her dirty hands into them. She then went to finding the necessary things to set up the blood transfusion all while Kurogiri stood back and observed. The black haired woman frantically ripped open the sterile packaging and tossed them aside. Fuck. I didn't grab alcohol prep pads. She mentally cursed in irritation as she used the hem of her shirt to wipe away at the inside of Shigaraki's arm. He's so cold. Pulling the cap from the needle head with her teeth, she stuck him, taped down the IV, and then connected the silicon tubing that then connected to the blood bag. There were (obviously) no IV poles around, so she gently placed the warm blood bag atop a wooden crate, in hopes that it wouldn't affect the flow of liquid. Sunako repeated the same thing with his other arm, though with a saline bag. Sifting around her pile of medical supplies, the blue eyed nurse found the Ceftriaxone and dosed it. Two grams. "Intravenous infusion..." she muttered to herself in concentration, repeating Doctor Sasaki's previous directions. She infused the medication with his saline drip and wiped some sweat from her forehead using her fore arm. "Can you time thirty minutes please?" She didn't bother turning to face the well dressed mist (hoping he'd just follow her order). Now, for the fun part. Sunako thought sarcastically as she pulled the two towels from Shigaraki's shoulder and the blood came quicker, squirting everywhere much like a broken fountain. "Stitch the lower first, then the top..." she muttered again as she turned back to her pile of supplies. Scissors. Scissors. Did I not grab scissors? She came up short. Of course I didn't. Fucking... FUCK! "Kurogiri, do you have scissors? A knife? Anything sharp? I have to get his pant leg out of the way." Sunako was focused as she tightened Shigaraki's tourniquet. Let's hope the tourniquet doesn't damage his nerves. It's already tighter than it should be.

Kurogiri didn't respond as a small warp portal opened beside her and some red handled scissors were held out to her. Of course they're safety scissors. Good Lord, he's a child. She took them with haste and began to struggle slightly as she cut the blue haired male's pant leg off, exposing his wound. Her gloved hands were soaked in blood, honestly the gloves didn't even matter at this point. Discarding the scissors, Sunako moved slightly so she was closer to Shigaraki's shoulder, which was the real problem. She wasn't aware if an artery has been severed or if there was muscle and tendon damage. It was tricky, really, but Sunako would try her damnedest. There's an exit wound, so that's good. Hopefully there's no fragments from the bullet.

Sunako sucked in a short breath and used her two fingers to gently prod the wound, feeling for bits of metal that she luckily didn't feel. A part of her was somewhat thankful the villain was unconscious. Okay. Okay, this is good. "Lower, then top..." she rolled Shigaraki onto his side and grabbed one of the many small tubes of saline she had grabbed. Using her teeth to rip the plastic top off, she squirt the salt water over and in the wound, flushing it. Sunako reached over and grabbed another towel and a suturing kit. I don't have absorbable stitches, so these will have to do. Sunako had a bit of difficulty with her trembling hands, but she quickly steadied herself and threaded her needle and began to stitch the back of Shigaraki's shoulder. Once the exit wound was closed, she laid him back on his back and began to work on suturing the lower layers of his tissue. The wound was small and could have been done in less that ten minutes, but having to stop every second to soak up blood was a hindrance. "Finally." Sunako breathed out. The biggest wound in closed. Now, for his leg. Sunako once again washed down the wound with saline and prodded it to feel for any sign of bullet fragments, and again there was none (much to her immediate relief). Good. Good. Sunako was slightly relieved in the sense that his knee cap was missed and his bones were still intact, so there would be no need for plates and screws or casts. Sunako stitched his leg and released the tourniquet, finally allowing the leg blood flow. Had she kept it on longer it probably would have began to damage his nerves on a mass level, and that was the last thing the nurse needed; an angry Shigaraki. Rinsing over both wounds one last time, Sunako sat back and just stared at her fast paced work. It wasn't perfect, but it was (definitely) more than suitable. It worked and that's what mattered.
