Hey everyone! Sorry for the wait for the next chapter. My spacebar on my laptop is broken, thanks to one of my fourteen cats, and finding somebody who can repair my specific type of computer is proving incredibly difficult. But, I'll manage! Anywho, thank you all for being patient!

- Chapter 30: Showtime -

That week of work had dragged on slower than Sunako thought. She'd swear time had come to a complete stand still and time wasn't actually passing at all, though the clock that rested upon the stark wall quickly disproved her postulation.

With her brain pounding within the confines of her skull, Sunako sucked down the remainder of her water bottle before discarding it to be recycled.

Exhaling, Sunako collected herself before emerging (albeit reluctantly) from the break room. How much longer is my shift? The migraine riddled nurse questioned internally to herself as she smoothed out her scrubs and straightened out the lanyard that hung loosely from her column like neck. The prospect that anyone could possibly hear her internal monologues made her skin crawl. Quirks really are something.

The ravenette plucked her designated clipboard from the cluttered desk space which was the ER nurses station. Thank God it's slower tonight. Truth be told, night was usually when they were their busiest. Nobody would ever hear a word of complaint leave the nurse regarding their lack in patients. If anything, she relished in it.

Flipping through the minuscule amount of pristine copy paper documents, she shivered as the hospital's air conditioning kicked into overdrive. She knew the system was set on an automatic timer, but God did she curse whoever set the temperature to arctic. No matter, the frigid air kept the slender woman on her toes (although, she couldn't fathom as to why Aya relished in such cold temperatures, it was miserable).

"Oh! Sunako! Sunako!" A frazzled voice coupled with the brisk clopping noises of clunky nursing shoes called out. If Sunako hadn't known better, she'd have thought a horse was approaching.

Sunako craned her head over her shoulder to peer upon the swiftly approaching nurse, her hyperactive brainwaves having revealed her only moments before she had called out. "Hey Nakamura," she greeted the fellow nurse with her last name. So many years living in Japan and she'd still never fully get use to using someone's last name first (is was called a last name for reason). It made Sunako feel old. She'd often request people simply use her first name when possible, despite the cultural intimacy it brought on. Honorifics were confusing. "What's up?"

"Hey, hey, hey. Could you please take this patient for me?" Nakamura offered Sunako a neat stack of recently printed papers, the ravenette took them dutifully and without much of second thought. "I'm about to go on break and I really want to grab something to eat before everything closes." The strawberry blonde offered a gracious smile and her scatterbrained brainwaves conveyed that.

Sunako hummed pensively as her slender (and now healed) fingers sifted the patient's admission work, skimming over the basics such as; height, weight, age, name, etcetera. Now, what's he here for? The nurse's sapphire eyes scanned the pristine paperwork much like a computer would, having been conditioned to nit pick. "A headache?" She deadpanned.

Nakamura rubbed the nape of her neck sheepishly as she fronted a lopsided grin, a contrite chuckle escaped her plump lips. "Heh, I figured you'd be the best person in the hospital to deal with this type'a hopper." A rueful brainwave emanated from the nurse clad in pink.

"Does he seem like a hopper to you?" Great, the last thing I want to deal with is a hospital hopping junkie looking for a quick fix. Don't people have a better way of finding drugs with quirks? An image of her stand in brother Damon came to mind. The corner of her lips upturned slightly at the thought of the older male that she'd considered family all her life, though, his quirk was less than pleasant and came with all sorts of downsides. He always managed. Sunako would say it was admirable in a way, despite the legal connotations behind it all, but she'd surmise and always say she knew nothing.
