"I have nothing to wear. It's official." Pansy threw herself onto the bed and sighed.
"You're being so dramatic." I stayed laying down on my bed, reading. "Just wear the black skirt with the mesh long sleeve, and then add the black tank top over it. Add some silver chains and the rings on the dresser." I pointed over to the corner of the dresser and Pansy squealed.
"You're a genius. All of that without looking up." She grabbed the clothes and started changing.
"I have a gift for it," I told her sarcastically as I waved my free hand in the air.
"Okay, how do I look?" She stepped in front of the mirror and did a little twirl to show off how she looks.
"Pretty hot, I'll admit." She smiled and turned back to the mirror to look at herself again. Then she saw me in the mirror and turned to face me. She sat down on the bed and looked me up and down.
"What are you wearing?"
"I'll take that as a sign that it won't be this." I laughed and got up to go to the closet. I picked a dark green fitted long sleeve crop top and straight jeans that had a rip on the left midthigh and right lower thigh on the back.
"Approval?" I asked as I turned over to Pansy who was flipping through my book out of boredom.
"Wicked!" She pulled me in front of the mirror and admired how we looked. "What time is it?"
"Oh um," I looked out the window. "Probably around nine. Why?" Apparently, the answer was obvious. She turned to look at me with panic.
"It starts at nine! Come on we can't have this be our impression." She grabbed my wrist and pulled me out of the dorm and into the hall.
"Isn't there such a thing as fashionably late?" I asked as she dragged me down the hall and to the stairs.
"When the Gryffindor common room is on the other side of the castle, it's not that hard to be fashionably late. I had it planned. Leave here at 8:53 and still be fashionably late." She was panicking and I felt bad but also, I couldn't care less. As Pansy dragged me down the stairs, I heard a voice from the couches by the fireplace.
"Going somewhere ladies?"
Shit.
"Nowhere your girlfriend couldn't explain." Pansy threw me in front of her. What the hell. He was confused, and well, so was I.
"G-girlfriend?" He tried to understand was Pansy said to him. She surely didn't mean herself. And then he got mad, and he looked me in the eyes. "What the hell did you say to her?"
"N-no I-I didn't-" I looked at Pansy, angry, upset, and worried. I had just started to be good with Draco last year and we were really going to get somewhere this year, and now this? He probably thinks I've been blabbing my mouth about lies, which isn't even something I would do.
"Whatever, just go before I report you two." He turned around and walked back to the couch, grabbing a book and falling back down onto the couch. I stood frozen looking at him. I couldn't comprehend what happened. I felt Pansy grab my hand and drag me out of the common room. I looked back right before we left and I saw Draco move his head sideways and look over his shoulder.
"What the hell, Pansy?" I was mad at her. There was no reason for her to do what she did, but she did it anyway. I told her there was nothing going on between us and yet she didn't believe it. Yes, we had gotten closer over the summer and I was happy about it, but it doesn't change the fact that we're just barely friends.
"He likes you."
"You're sick" I scoffed at her and made my way towards the Gryffindor tower.
"I'm being serious. He just let you off the hook so easily. That along with the staring and the hangouts and whatever happened on the train. Y/n don't you see?"
