Bellatrix's grip was strong, her sharp nails digging into Y/n's soft, delicate skin. The end of her crooked wand was under Y/n's chin, digging deep into it where her pain was visible on her face.
No. This wasn't supposed to happen. She was supposed to be safe.
"It's her, or him, Draco. You decide but I should warn you that I am very impatient today," Bellatrix hissed, leaning closer to Y/n. I watched her take a sharp breath in, scared of what was going to happen to her. "This girl was spying on us down below. Watching your every move, probably to report back to whoever she serves. I can tell her loyalties don't lie in the same place as yours."
Y/N'S POV
"I wasn't spying!" I called out, squirming in Bellatrix's grip. Her wand felt like it might pierce my skin at any moment.
"Then what were you doing? Sneaking around down below, what were you doing that for?" She was staring into my soul. Her tongue grazing her dirty, crooked teeth, leaning closer to me as her wand caused blood to trickle down my neck. That made Draco start to leap towards me, but he stopped himself.
I was looking out for Draco. That's what I was doing.
"Bella," I heard a voice boom. She looked right past me and quickly her eyes widened.
"Severus," she hissed, surprised by his sudden presence up in the Astronomy Tower. He made his way over to the other side of Draco, his robes blowing behind him. Dumbledore looked weak but as he looked over at Snape, something inside of him clicked. Snape tilted his head back and looked down at Dumbledore. Disgusted and embarrassed for him.
"Severus," Dumbledore spoke weakly, almost as though he was begging, but for what? Snape inhaled sharply and spoke as though he had been planning his next words for a long time.
"Avada Kedavra." A green light shot out the end of Snape's wand and hit Dumbledore, sending him back and out the side of the tower. He had fallen. My headmaster for six years had fallen and in more ways than one.
'It's Hogwarts we're talking about. There's Dumbledore. What could be safer?'
I thought back to the night Harry had spoken those words, and as I looked out at Dumbledore falling, I knew we were all doomed.
Bellatrix released her grip on me, causing me to fall down to the ground, and rushed over to where Dumbledore had just fallen. She held onto the railing and pointed her wand at the sky, cackling as her spell turned the entire sky dark and gloomy, covering it with a skull and snake, just like our arms.
"Y/n. Y/n, hey it's okay." Draco knelt beside me and held onto me. I stared at the ground, my hand on my neck, catching each drop of blood that fell from my skin. He tried to comfort me but as I pulled my hand away, drenched in red, I knew I couldn't feel safe again. I watched two black shoes come into view and I looked up, finding Snape towering over the two of us.
"Up. Both of you," he commanded. Draco held onto my arms and picked me up, careful to be gentle with me. I heard the shoes of some of the other death eaters come closer to us, nearing the stairs. Snape turned his attention to them, then back at us, pushing us towards the stairs as a signal to follow them.
Draco's hand was intertwined with mine, and his grip was tight, scared something might happen if he let go. So many expressions were written all over his face that it was hard to pick just one. He was worried, nervous, angry, anxious, confused, disgusted, sad, sympathetic. But looking at him as we walked through the corridor, surrounded by death eaters, I could see one emotion stand out above the rest. He was scared.
