Pansy had started getting ready at about four. The party was at nine. After all this time and I still don't understand why she did that. Regardless, she did, and this time she made me get ready with her. Usually, I just stayed on my bed reading, talking to her, or doing homework, but this time was different. She made it her mission tonight to make me the "baddest bitch".

She dragged me into the bathroom to curl my hair which she immediately brushed out, so I didn't see the point. She thought it looked pretty so I trusted her. My mum was always busy with work at the ministry to be there to teach me girly things growing up. I had learned my sense of style from muggle magazines Cissy used to bring me for Christmas. Although our family as a whole was never close to theirs, my mum and Narcissa were very close friends since their time at Hogwarts.

At about seven, we were done with makeup and hair, and it was finally time to get dressed. I thought getting dressed was a simple activity. You put your clothes on that are already laid out for you, and you're done. I forgot that things are different with Pansy. It took us until about eight-thirty to be completely dressed. About fifteen minutes later, we heard music coming from outside the door. I opened it to look down at the green decorated common room, but Pansy pulled me back inside the dorm.

"You can't let people see you yet." I can't believe I forgot her fashionably late rule.

"Pansy, I invited Fred and George, they'll be all by themselves down there surrounded by Slytherins, I have to," I tried pleading with her. She looked around the room, trying to think, before turning back to me.

"I'll let you go down at nine, but absolutely no sooner," She said and I agreed. Waiting in that room for another fifteen minutes to pass was so boring. There was nothing to do since Pansy banned me from reading. She said I needed to get my party game on and I can't do that if I'm reading depressing literature. I rolled my eyes.

Finally, it was time and I got up to leave. I noticed Pansy wasn't following me. "Come on, it's nine." She shook her head at me. "Why not?" It was a stupid question, I'd come to find.

"I can't go until nine-ten the very earliest. Fashionably late, Y/n. I'm the queen of it."

"How could I forget," I sassed. "Isn't your boyfriend down there?" I pointed towards the door.

"Yeah, but he'll have to wait too. The best things come to those who wait." With that, she sat back down on her bed.

"Alright, I'll see you in ten." I walked out, closing the door behind me, and made my way down to the common room. The room was flooded with Slytherins. There were a few Ravenclaws, including Luna who was dancing with Blaise. I saw a number of Hufflepuffs and then three Gryffindors. McLaggen, George and Fred.

I made my way over to the couch that George and Fred were standing by, but on the way, McLaggen walked up to me, stopping in front of me.

"Where's Pansy?" he asked, raising his eyebrow at me.

"Upstairs. She'll be down soon," I answered blandly, trying to push my way past him. He grabbed onto my wrist.

"Don't like my company?" He smirked at me. I looked behind him and saw Draco far behind him leaning against a table, looking at me with his arms crossed. He wanted to come defend me, but he was hesitant. Hesitant to let others know he cared. I looked away from him and back to McLaggen. I ripped my arm out of his hand and turned away from him, walking over to the twins'.
