It's been a little over four weeks since Draco and I started keeping each other a secret. I hate to admit it's been kind of fun. We sneak around the halls and go into empty classrooms to kiss. When he sits next to me in class, he passes little notes in my direction as carefully as he could.
We usually hang out at night. It's easier to be together when no one is awake to catch us. We tend to go to the astronomy tower around midnight, and we lay there looking at the stars. Sometimes we sit in the window openings and watch as the night turns to day. We've even gone back to the Black Lake. We sit under a tree where no one can see us, and we read. Sometimes I read to him, sometimes we read our own stories, but at least we have each other.
I was surprised how easy it was to keep this from Blaise. All we had to do was act normal around him, and never be missing at the same time to prevent suspicion. It was harder to keep this from Pansy. She would come back into the dorm every morning and tell me all about her and McLaggen. I wanted to relate, to tell her stories, but the last thing I needed was for her to know and tell Blaise.
I was laying in Draco's bed, reading a book as he was taking a shower. It was around eleven-thirty and we were going to sneak into the library. I had the book held over my face as Draco came out of the bathroom, dressed in black dress pants and a black long sleeve. His hair was still wet and it fell on his forehead. He walked over to me and I lowered the book slowly, looking up at him as he looked down at me. He leaned down and kissed me lightly on the lips.
"Come on," he whispered, standing back up. I smiled at him, sat up, twisted myself around, and hopped off the bed.
"Well, let's get moving," I smiled at him, holding my hand out for him to grab. He reached his hand out and interlocked his fingers with mine. I opened the door and made sure no one was in the hall. Once it was clear, we made our way out, down the steps, and out the common room door. We walked slowly, trying our best not to let our footsteps echo. I looked over at him and saw that he was already looking at me, smiling.
I looked away smiling, trying to hide my pink face from him, and continued to walk towards the library.
We made it to the wooden doors and quietly opened them, slipping inside.
I browsed the stacks of books, admiring how beautiful they looked in the moonlight. Draco walked behind me as I grazed my fingers over the spines of the books. I stopped in front of an old faded blue book that had silver edging. I pulled it off the shelf and held it in my hands, admiring its beauty.
Romeo and Juliet, the cover read in silver script letters.
I walked over to a study table and sat down on it, letting my legs hang off the side. Draco leaned against the table across from me about a meter away, his arms crossed and a smirk on his face. I began to read from my favourite scene. Where Romeo speaks to Juliet from below her balcony.
Draco came closer to me as I read. I saw as he stood in front of me, continuing to move closer. He took the book out of my hands and placed it down next to me. He put his hands on my knees, moving my legs apart as he moved even closer to me. He stood between my legs with his hands on the outside of both my thighs. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer.
"You seem to have a thing for sad romances," he whispered with a smirk on his face. I smiled and let out a light laugh.
"Every story has to have some spice, don't you think?" I said back, smiling at him.
He tiled his head to the side, smirking, then leaned in and placed his lips on mine. I felt him smile. He moved his right hand to the back of my neck and pull me in even closer to deepen the kiss.
