"Hermione? How did you even get in here? I thought you were with Ron." I walked over and sat down next to her.

"Focus, Y/n. Look, I believe you, alright? I do, but Harry-"

"No. This isn't about-" I looked at Hermione and she looked down at her hands, giving her away. "Mione, I told you he's not-"

"I know, and I believe you, truly, but would you be willing to check to see if Draco is a-a, well you know, a death eater?" She put her hand over mine, trying to reason with me.

"Hermione, what the hell? You said-" I started, but she cut me off, trying to calm me down.

"I believe you, I do, so don't you want to rule him out completely? 100 percent, for Harry's sake?" If all I was doing was proving Draco wasn't who Harry said he was, then fine, and so I agreed. "Fine. I'll go over just to prove that I was right this entire time." I rolled my eyes and hopped off the bed, headed over to the door, and left my room.

As I walked down the corridor to the dorms, I was alone with the thoughts Harry had put in my head. Draco had been distant and secretive. Hiding something he didn't want me to know and I didn't know why. And just now he was crying after yet another failed assassination attempt on Dumbledore. What if Harry was on to something? But he couldn't be, right? Because how could Draco have hidden something like that this entire time?

I made it to his dorm and threw open his door.

"Show me your arm." I stood there as he stared at me. He looked at me confused and opened his mouth to say something but I spoke before he even got the chance.

"Arm. Now."

He looked down at his arms in confusion and slowly pulled up his right sleeve.

"Other one." He did nothing. I started walking towards him and he backed up, holding his forearm.

"Y/n, stop it." I didn't listen. I kept trying to get to his arm.

"Stop it, you don't know what you're doing," he pleaded to me as his eyes started to get glossy. I did know what I was doing, and that's why it hurt.

"Show me your arm, Draco." My voice started to get shaky.

"No."

"Why not?" He put his hand on my shoulder, keeping me away, and the other behind his back. I stared into his grey eyes. They kept flickering back and forth between my eyes. There was so much pain in them. "Draco, show me your arm or- or I'll leave. Is that what you want?" I started to feel my eyes sting as the threat left my mouth. "Show me," I demanded.

He slowly dropped his arm and sat down on his bed. He held the cuff of his sleeve with his hand and dragged it up to his elbow. There it was. The skull and snake, moving on his forearm. It was scarred over with scratches and I could see parts of it were deeper than others and poorly taken care of.

I was in shock. Judging by his reluctant behaviour, I had figured it would be there, but I was still surprised to see it. I didn't know what to do with myself knowing for sure now. I slowly started moving backward, keeping my eyes on his mark.

"No no no no no" Draco whispered, slowly started getting up and quickly lunged for my arm as I tried backing away.

"No Y/n please, please don't go." I didn't want to. I wanted to be with him, but this was something I hadn't planned for.

"Please, I can explain. Please let me explain." I got out of his grip and leaned back against the wall. He stayed standing and turned to face me. I looked down at my hands and played with my fingers. I couldn't bring myself to look at him. I wanted to hear an explanation, I wanted to know what he was thinking when he went into all of this before walking out on him.
