I woke up that morning and Draco was gone, but I figured he must have already gone to the Great Hall with the others so I threw a hoodie on and some shoes then ran out of the dorm. I got to the top of the stairs to the common room when I heard squealing. It was eight in the morning who could have possibly been squealing at this hour. I went farther down the steps and saw who it was.
Astoria.
And who was standing in front of her?
Draco.
I started to walk farther down the stairs and tap on his shoulder but before I could even reach the bottom, she wrapped his arms around his neck and smashed their lips together. I felt my head get light and the room around me started to get dizzy. I turned around and tried to make my way up the stairs but my vision was failing me and the best I could do was stumble back to my dorm.
I opened my door and threw myself onto my bed, my back hitting the mattress, and I laid there numb. I didn't even know how I was supposed to feel, but what the fuck.
DRACO'S POV
I fucking hate my father, and I wish he had stayed in Azkaban. Ever since he'd gotten out, somehow my life has been worse.
I had gone home yesterday as per my mum's request saying that she needed to speak to me. I had gotten to the Malfoy Manor and she sat me down in the kitchen but hesitated to speak, as though she could get in trouble.
"It's getting late mum and Y/n is waiting for me back at-"
"You're not going anywhere until we speak with you. Is that clear?" My father's voice boomed as he entered the kitchen, holding his cane in his hand and slamming it against the floor. Both my mother and I snapped our heads in his direction and mum jumped a little from the loud, sudden noise. "Did you tell him, Narcissa?" my father spoke, turning his attention to mum.
"N-no not yet Lucius-"
"Well, why on Earth not?" He was getting angry with her and I hated when he tormented mum. When he made her fear powerless and hopeless, small under his control. They stared at each other, my father's expression getting angrier and my mother's completion getting paler the longer they stood there.
"Tell me what?" I asked, raising my voice slightly and standing up from my seat. They both turned their attention to me.
"Draco, darling, you see, your father and I- well, we were thinking for some time that maybe, well we were thinking-"
"For Merlin's sake Narcissa, could you speak any slower. You're marrying the Greengrass girl."
"Like hell I am." I slammed my hand down on the counter. "I have a girlfriend, I don't need to be suited."
"That mudblood. You think you're going to poison our status and get away with it?" My father's eyes looked me up and down, disgusted and disappointed in who I had become.
"I already have," I snarled through gritted teeth, walking past him to the door. He grabbed a hold of my arm as I passed by him, and yanked me to look at him.
"You're going to pay for it," he threatened. I paid no attention and ripped my arm out of his grasp, leaving the kitchen and apparating back to Hogwarts. My dorm was dark by the time I got back and Y/n was already asleep in my bed so I got dressed into pajamas and joined her. When I woke up the next morning, I figured I should talk to Astoria about the arrangement, thinking she must have also been informed of it. I didn't wake Y/n because I didn't want her to freak out, and besides, it's Saturday.
I walked into the common room and conveniently found Astoria sitting on the couch by herself.
"Hey Astoria," I greeted, walking a little closer to her. She jumped up from her seat and rushed over to me, standing less than an arms-length away.
